What a wonderful facility and cause! We stumbled on to this thanks to Trip Advisor and it was well worth the time. We were able to interact with staff (or volunteers? I didn’t ask) and they were engaging and informative.
This is a small facility and due to them being in the healing process you aren’t allowed to get super close, but plenty close enough to see the closest pool and watch them play and interact.

Smaller than I thought it would be, but it is free and you do get to see the seals and sea lions that they are trying to rehab and get back out into the wild. I was hoping to let my son see some cool wildlife and maybe help him learn to love them. The volunteers do a great job talking to the kids, and I think my goal was achieved. So if you are in the area and have 30 minutes to spend stop in and check it out.

I love visiting this center. The docents are all so helpful. We learned all about the rescues and about all the new changes. It is a must see.

I had a trip to the Pacific Marine Mammals Center with my family. We were so excited before we went there and even more excited when we were having a brief tour overthere.
The guide is so friendly, informative and communicative, so we could have a lot of info and new perspective especially about the ocean and its creatures. (pardon me i forgot the name of her).
We can see a seals, sea lions and some more mammals overthere that we don't see them often daily, so its kinda great experience, especially for kids

It was rainy and cloudy so we took a break from the beach to visit the mammal center- so educational! We really enjoyed our visit- we had a mother/daughter team that were our guides and they were amazing with all the information they shared. If you go please be sure to give a donation.

Great experience. We walked in, no issue although parking is a little limited. We were immediately greeted by a volunteer and given a full tour with in depth information about the sanctuary. The information was very helpful in understanding their program. You are feet from these amazing creatures. Many different types of seals in various stages of recovery. Our you ones lived the experience and of course the gift shop was a hit after. Make sure to donate to this great organization.

During Spring Break, we went to the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach. There is no admission fee, but donations are greatly appreciated, since the staff are all volunteers and all proceeds (from purchases made in the Gift Shop, as well as, donations, go to maintaining the Center and its work to save the injured marine mammals: $1=1 pound of fish to feed the seals and sea lions). Typically, the animals stay from one to four months, until they can feed themselves. Interestingly, the animals are NOT hand fed, but must swim to get their fish (which is how they would have to feed themselves when returned to the ocean). A guide is eager to share information about the "patients" that are currently in their care, and gladly answer any questions.

We have driven past this little gem many times. It’s a small unique facility that has much much more going in than it looks from the outside. Working off just donations and volunteers alone. The staff helps to rescue, rehabilitate and release many wild marine animals. There is a quaint shop and beautiful gardens with lots of information about the animals and conservation. We were delighted and informed about the care that is given to the animals.

The recent oil spill along the Orange County shore motivated our family to make not insignificant monetary contributions to this and other non-profits who mobilized to rescue and save birds and marine mammals. As a local resident who saw first hand the threat this event posed to wildlife, we are grateful that these organizations exist.
Unfortunately, the gratitude is not mutual with this organization. Nearly 2 months after they deposited our five figure check, we finally heard from Pacific Marine. It wasn't a word of thanks or even an acknowledgment; it was a letter seeking more money. At a time when many non-profits are competing for funding from the public, this struck us as tone-deaf. I would encourage the head of this organization to learn how to engage with the public. Until then, we will be directing our contributions to other local wildlife organizations.

After that last horrible incident, they apparently need a security guard after hours. Of course you can't just drop off one of those, but a donation towards acquiring/supporting one might be on their list.
