The natural history Museum is a very fun experience. For those of us who have EBT cards we are able to enter with free admission because of it, the only downside to that is that cafeteria doesn’t take EBT. It would make sense for them to do so, considering some of LA residents heavily rely on that card.

This place is humongous! This is a great place to take children of all ages. This is also a great place for a date. They have different shops spread out across the building. I had a blast this place made me feel like a child again.

Definitely worth the price of the admission ticket, a very good learning experience! Food was affordable and there are lots of options, with a free drink.
So many exhibitions to see !

This is an old style “specimens in the cabinets” museum set in spectacular old buildings. Mostly, the museum is about dinosaurs, mammals and birds.
The dinosaur hall is very good, with whole actual skeletons on display as well as many others that are casts, plus some pretty good simple explanations of various aspect of dinosaurs.
The mammal display has separate halls for American and African mammals and I has the usual stuffed bears, deer, foxes, elephants, etc in small scenes inside cabinets loosely representing their habitat.
The bird display is packed but randomly organised. It has examples of birds from all over the world.
Other areas include a section explaining the formulation and growth of L.A., and a few other unmemorable things.
The building is spectacular indoors and is worth a visit just to see that.
We spent probably 75 minutes with the dinosaurs and an hour seeing re rest of the museum.

Veel klassieke zaken, zoals meerdere zalen met opgezette dieren. Maar ook superveel dinosaurus skeletten met behoorlijk wat duiding. Ook een schitterende edelsteencollectie

On a non-school day, my granddaughter and I visited the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Tickets must first be purchased online, selecting day and time of planned visit. Face masks must be worn at all times, except when eating.
We also reserved tickets for the "Becoming Jane" exhibit on Jane Goodall. We both enjoyed the exhibit, which included a tent simulating what Jane lived in when she was in Africa. My granddaughter really enjoyed mimicking the chimpanzee's sounds alerting that a snake is nearby. There is a small restaurant to get a snack or lunch and plenty of indoor and covered outdoor seating. The gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs, toys, gifts.

We were just looking for anything to do while in LA and chose the museum. It is very large and has plenty of displays and things to read and learn from. The cafe was a nice plus with outside seating.

Even though the bones are old - there is always something new, interesting and fun to experience when you visit. Great for families of all ages. Easily accessible via public transportation. If you drive, arrive early to take advantage of the onsite parking garage - it fills up fast, especially on the weekends.

I sincerely appreciate Ronnie (the manager) stepping up and providing excellent customer service after a not so great encounter of one of his staff members. It’s great to see people caring about a families experience at the museum and going above and beyond.

The place is fascinating. I will definitely go again. As a person with disability, they only provide wheelchairs and it would be hard going to the garden alone in a wheelchair. I hope they can offer electrical scooters in the future. Cause even the parking has a good walking distance to the entrance.

Can you visit this museum and walk over and visit the Science Center all in one day? Is it easy to Uber to from Universal Studios atea?

My recommendation would be to see both the Natural History Museum and Science Center in 1 day. 1) schedule and pay for tickets first for the IMAX show that you are interested in. If it’s a weekend buy your tickets online because the line will be long and there are NO previews and the movies are about 40 minutes to 1 hour long and No refunds.
2) if you are visiting between March and September 1. They usually have the Butterfly exhibit which requires tickets for a 30 minute visit in the pavilion. This tickets for members can be reserved online or called to the membership desk. If you are not a member. Make this your first stop at the Natural History either when you enter or it’s just right next door to the Science Center. We walk over and get a time that’s after the IMAX movie so we get them both in that day.
3) What to know about the Science Center
Admission is free. The specialty exhibit is not and not mandatory. There are lots of interactive exhibits. A rock climbing wall for kids a fee. A few simulated rides for a fee. The Endeavor is included with your IMAX ticket and awesome.
4) The Natural History museum next door has lots of fun exhibits. The butterfly exhibit is our favorite. The dinosaur exhibit is also very cool. They have interactive times with a few animals there with a guide.
Note there is a Rose Garden for beautiful pictures to take in the spring and summer between the 2 buildings. Also the Science Center closes its door s a bit early so if you park in the Science Center parking you will have to walk around the side of the building once the doors from the back closest to the Natural History museum.
It will be a full day but one is all you need. Lunch can be purchased in the Science Center and know they close early.
I hope this helps.

Hi, what does the general admission ticket include? Does it include the Dino exhibits? Thank you.

Generally, it's $15 per adult to enter the main exhibits.
Then, an additional $9 for any special exhibit, such as the Antarctic Dinosaur. (Well worth it as you'll see dinosaurs not shown or that well known otherwise)
Note that most of these places are priced somewhat along this route - one price for the primary museum/library (such as Reagan Library), and then an additional cost, usually about $10 or so for special exhibit.
Note that parking in one of the Museum's lot is $12 CASH; if you go on a very busy day (think USC and Coliseum), good luck on keeping the parking costs down. I was surprised at this, particularly cash to park, so be ready, and if it's not the primary museum parking lot, might have a bit of a walk.
We've been to Nixon and Reagan Library and there were no costs for parking ... but maybe comparing Apples to Oranges.
Can you leave and come back the same day with one ticket?

You can park in the Natural History Museum's parking lot for $12 for the full day. Across the street on Bill Robertson Ln is also $12 (cash) it's called Lot 3.

Is there somewhere we can drop our luggage so we can enjoy the museum without carting around our bags? In between hotel moves!

If you have a hotel but cannot check in, almost all have luggage rooms that you can check your bags before you go to the museum. I am not aware of a luggage check area at the museum itself.
