Always a good stop for your music shopping and purchases. We stopped on Black Friday and it was super busy. It is a great place to look for vinyl, CDs, tshirts, DVDs, books, music related items. Parking available half a block away. Get your ticket validated for free parking!

I never made it to the iconic cool design of the Sunset Blvd location and for this I'm super sad. I can't say seeing this from outside has the same impact the original location had and that's a shame. I know they say it was cuz of Covid but I'm guessing there were a lot of other factors. The thing is that this location is not an easy in and out, one has to figure out the whole parking issue and whole thing has to be much more of an occasional treasure hunt thing if you don't live right there. Overall, I think I preferred the Berkeley location which also has Rasputin's right there, but that doesn't help I suppose if you're in LA lol. Anyway, I just mean it's nice if the location is an easy in and out for access if it's the only thing you're going to the location for. That being said I loved hanging in the store since I purchase most of my cd's and vinyl on line these days which makes it easier to quickly find what your looking for to be honest the online prices were mostly cheaper too. It's hard to justify paying so much more just to support a brick and mortar store and this has been a struggle for me over the years, I want to support them but the price differences are often significant. Despite this I like to have the real touch and feel of owning the cd, not just streaming but I know that isn't popular with most these days. This store is exciting though still to see the enthusiasm of people shopping for real music and well worth going.

We visited Amoeba music after attending the Cruel World festival in Pasadena the previous day. It had been a while since I purchased anything in a legit record store, since, for a long time now, I've shopped online. I visited Amoeba with my husband and another couple we traveled with, each of us being mega music fans. We decided to play "What's in my bag?" I wouldn't exactly say Amoeba has everything, but they sure do have A LOT! It was overwhelming looking at everything. If there's one small criticism I have, it would be that the genres weren't broken down far enough. I was specifically looking for darkwave/goth/new wave selections, and it would have been nice to see sub-sections devoted to those genres. Instead, I had to look through all things rock/pop to find the bands I was looking for. I had a few titles in my hand, but realized the prices were a little high, and I thought "I could probably find those cheaper online." So I stuck to grabbing a few records that seemed to be more of a friendly price-point, comparable to what I'd find online. I also got the obligatory Amoeba music t-shirt (I mean, how could you not?!) as well as a Depeche Mode World Violation tour t-shirt - I'm not sure if it was an original design, but I was positive it was something I wouldn't see anywhere else, so since they're my favorite, it was a must-buy. My husband found a pretty cool t-shirt with a saying that is perfect for concert-going and a record that he stumbled upon. This is an amazing store, and frankly, we thought it would be even bigger than it actually is. It gets VERY busy here, so just keep that in mind if you're wanting to casually browse. Despite being busy, the checkout line moves really quickly. Overall, this was an interesting "throwback" experience, and it would be cool to make a return visit on a future trip to the general area. This is certainly a must-visit for the music lovers out there!

Excellent record store- brought me back to years ago. Really great selection and tons of different sections. Has Records, CDs as well as movie DVDs, books and posters.

It is alway worth a stop to Amoeba. The selection of vinyl, cds, dvds is huge. Park in the adjoining ramp, get your ticket validated for free parking. Worth it! I usually find something here.

I think this was highlight of Hollywood Blvd. I would walk in just to see merchandise. The loft area has books. Parked in El Centro parking lot (hard to find elevator in Garage and hard to find walk in Enteance from street), had to make left turn on busy street. There were a lot of people, might be worth taking red line from a station with free parking. Really nice place to walk through, wish there were more local eateries within eye shot of store.

I decided to get some new cd’s for my car and was looking for a good selection of used cd’s. Took the red line train to the Hollywood/vine station and was practically right next door to the station.
Not too many of these vinyl/cd stores left standing and there was also a large selection of rock and roll memorabilia and other collectibles. In my case I just decided to get some Annie Lennox cds which were only a few dollars. For those who want a short walk it was no more then 3/4 mile to walk to the Hollywood/highland station

Awesome record shop. Tons of everything. Could spen a fortune here and man wished I had save all of my old fliers from shows back in the day. They were selling for $40-$100. Huge variety of stuff. Great memorabilia to go through. Music movies etc. just a very cool music store. But huge. Staff all friendly as well

Al que le gusta la musica es imprescindible. No se que cantidad de horas me pase alli, y como quedaba a unas calles de mi hostel, cada vez que pasaba entraba. Es un lugar enorme, lleno de reliquias musicales de todos los tiempos, realmente sus pasadizos son interminables y encontras de tooooodo. Arte, libros, vinilos, discos, VHS, DVD, articulos de coleccion. Los recontra re mil recomiendo. De paso, justo en esa vereda esta la estrella de Red HOt CHili Peppers, por si a alguien le interesa como a mi, jaja
