Lovely location, well appointed tasting room and patio. Knowledgeable staff. The wines are top notch. Enjoyed visiting here.

Our experience at Domaine Anderson was first class - super great staff and exceptional sparkling wines. We could have stayed all day (it was a bit rainy outside) but had other spots to visit. Because of wineries like Domaine Anderson, we'll be back (with friends) to visit the Anderson Valley!

Emily is remarkably knowledgeable friendly accommodating and friendly.
They have a great variety of Pinot and Chardonnay’s of the highest quality and best prices. In a beautiful setting.

Part of the Louis Roederer family, Domaine Anderson crafts single vineyard a Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays with emphasis on biodynamic and organic farming. Their wines are reminiscent of Burgundy but definitely has California written in them as well. Their tasting room is spacious and airy. And Brian is a gracious host. Definitely worth a visit in the Valley.

Referring to the Model T in his 1922 autobiography, My Life and Work, Henry Ford wrote, “Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.” At Domaine Anderson, any customer can taste any wine s/he wants as long as it’s either Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. This laser-sharp focus results in some exquisite wines, a common denominator among the family-owned wineries belonging to the Champagne house, Louis Roederer, which put Anderson Valley on the map almost 40 years ago. Today, one can visit 3 of these wineries in the space of just 6 miles on Highway 128 in Anderson Valley: Roederer Estate and Scharffenberger Cellars (both of which produce sparkling wine exclusively) in addition to Domaine Anderson (which makes still wines). The latest addition to the Roederer family of wineries is Merry Edwards Winery in Sonoma County, legendary for its – you guessed it – Pinot Noir. Tasting fee: $10 (sampling of current releases) or $15 (focus on single vineyard labels of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir).

This was a beautiful winery. Very good for an afternoon. None of the wines were to our taste but the server was very friendly and knowledgeable.

Good place to stop for Pinots and some interesting white wines. Easy to get to on Hwy 128, Domaine Anderson is part of the Roederer wine group that owns a number of wineries in the area. They make a big deal of the winery’s designer and it’s nice, but not the big place we were expecting. Go for the reds. They make some nice ones and tasting fees are waived if you belong to a wine club at any of the wineries in the group. Cheers

We would likely have not stopped into this winery had the staff pouring at Roederer and Sharffenberger not given us cards for comped tastings. And that would have been a huge mistake. The wines are all well made, respectful of the grapes, and make full use of the characteristics of the valley and their influence on the wines. The wines poured are chardonnay and pinot, with a pinot-based rose in the mix. The wines were more in the style of Burgundy than Napa or Russian River, which to us is a good thing. Brian was a font of information about wine in Anderson Valley, the wine industry more broadly, and of course the wines of Domaine Anderson. The tasting room was not busy and he really took his time with us. Apart from the wines, the property is lovely. On our next trip to AV, we will surely be making a stop here.

From our vacation residence at the Brambles / Madrones in Philo, we took a short 5 minute walk to this fabulous winery. Domaine Anderson is part of a much bigger group but retains it local charm. It is a fairly large winery located immediately off the main road through the Anderson Valley. We walked along the driveway amongst the bird filled trees adjacent to the autumn hues of the vineyards to the cool - both in temperature and decor - tasting room, to be met by our host.
The complimentary tasting was really good. We tried 6 different wines, ranging from light Chardonnay, to crisp dry rose to deep and delicious Pinot Noir, 2014 vintage, from their Pinoli vineyard. All were excellent!
We the retired to the patio and ‘revisited’ both the 2014 Pinot and the Rose and then purchased the Pinot. We will hang onto these bottles for a while and are looking forward to drinking them. We have no doubt we will revisit the winery in future and recommend all readers to do the same - we don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Just ensure you have time to linger.
