We went to Martial Cottle park on a sunny day in May. We used our parks pass to enter the park. We liked the flowers which were very pretty. This is an agricultural park and nice walking paths. The picnic areas were still roped off for the most part due to COVID. Most other county parks are open for picnics so somewhat surprised.

Parking is free during COVID-19!
There is a great bike/walking path around the whole park that my son and I love very much. There is a lot of animals to see, a playground for little ones and a bathroom for everyone.

We went to Martial Cottle Park in San Jose, California. This used to be a ranch. They still have planted fields there. There are some special events there.
There is a visitor center and a fun area to walk with the children to see statues of pigs, horses, and so forth. There are nice flowers.
We went on a free day - usually there is a small $6 fee for parking.
There are nice views of the area from the park.

Last year I went to the Master Gardeners' Sale at this park and hated it. This year it was better organized and showed off more of the features of the park. I'll return to stroll its paths; very kid-friendly, too.

This large county park is primarily agricultural, with an organic farm covering most of the acreage. The Master Gardeners have four acres, Our City Forest has space and 4 H also has an area. There is a great visitor's center, picnic areas and a great trail system. There is a farm stand near the corner of Snell and Chynoweth. My greyhound group walks here one Sunday every month.

This is a great park with trail system for walkers, joggers, bicyclists, skaters, non-motorized scooters and roller bladers. Equestrians and dogs on 6-foot leash are also welcome on the trail. Don’t forget to pick up after your pets. Bring plenty of shade as there are few big trees on this new park. Fees are required for vehicle entrance, and for use of group picnic areas. Parking fees are $2/hr or $6/day...

Beautiful park with walking trail, visitor’s center, children’s playground, plenty of rental areas. There are always events going on such as composting classes, outdoor movie showings, farming classes...check out their website for events. Parking is $6 which helps to maintain the parks, there is also free parking on the side street. Water fountains and restroom are available. Very pet friendly.

MCP is open an a wonderful place to visit. The sun is out today, but it is cool and crisp outside. This is the type of weather when I like to put on a heavy jacket and go walking. Be sure to stop at the Visitor center to get a overview of the history of the park and the fame that lived here. If you have been here before there are new items from the Japanese families that lived and worked her before they were sent to internment camps in WWII. There is also a mechanical cow that children can milk. There have been some bald eagles in the trees. Learn about what this valley was like before there were freeways, shopping centers, and housing tracts.

We went to Martial Cottle Park, which is a new park in San Jose. There is a day use fee (currently $6 per car). One can pay this at the machine if the entrance station office is closed. There looked to be a fair amount of street parking currently that is free.
The Cottle Family owned the farm. Edwin Cottle started the farm in 1864. It stayed in the family and continued to be farmed through 2014 when the last heir Walter Cottle Lester passed away. At that time it became a farm.
There will still be farming here. Jacobs Farm is now here.
Its a very nice place for taking a walk. There are individual as well as group picnic grounds. There are informational signs about the farm and the Cottle Family.
There is also Discovery Farm - which is fun to go to - especially for children. The animals there are not real, but "built". Its a cute place and also has a tractor play area.
There is also a visitor center.
Overall, we thought that this is a nice new park. It is also a large park at 287 acres.
