We went on the 4th of July sail - it was OK but not worth the $200 price. I emailed beforehand to see what that included and the response said it included nonalcoholic drinks and snacks. However, we were never offered anything. Also, the large crew is more focused on having fun themselves rather than being customer focused. It is interesting sailing on a brigantine but that comes with so many limitations and restrictions it is not ideal for a fun cruise on the bay. I guess the money goes for a donation so the crew can continue having fun but I don’t think we will do that again. For $200 each we can have a full buffet cruise.

I highly recommend going for a sail on the Matthew Turner! Can’t beat the views (obviously) but the crew makes this experience very personalized. A must do experience for tourists and locals alike. I will go again at some point for sure. Thanks again to the amazing crew for the day and the work they do for the community.

We had an absolute amazing time! Myself for sure but I was actually surprised at how much my 3 sons (15, 12 & 5) enjoyed it also. Despite the cool temperatures from the steady winds (which made for great sailing) we were fine. I cannot wait to do it again and hopefully get my boys in the aloft program for much longer exposure.

If you are looking for an authentic experience while visiting the SF Bay Area head on down the Sausalito's waterfront at the Army Corp of Engineers dock at the Bay Model. Built by volunteers, crewed by an incredible team of young adventurers and educators, who share their passion for sailing, nautical history and environmental preservation while giving you a thrilling experience.

I attended the Aloft and heritage sails, and just wanted to reach out and say thank you- to Sylvia, to the captain, and to the fantastic crew! I flew across the country to attend because it's been a lifelong dream of mine, and every single person truly went above and beyond to include me. They were so welcoming and made every moment so special. I learned so much. I felt like one of the crew, and I can not imagine a more perfect experience or a better day. I can't thank any of you enough, but please let the captain and crew know that I am forever grateful for their kindness, patience, and enthusiasm! It was truly a day I will remember forever. I strongly encourage others to participate in Call of the Sea's programs! Wishing the Call of the Sea team the best- with all my heart! Fair winds!

It was a demonstration of ultimate Team work. Captain Rebecca, Mate(s) Spatch and Eric, Educator Steve K, Sailors Nick and Mike, and all the trainees were highly professional, safe, and alert.
One of the highlights was the tour of the Hybrid Power Plant. Since it was World Ocean's Day, we also got a perspective on the local and global environment.
The trip is a worthy 5 STARS.

I booked the morning Father's Day trip and we had a wonderful time out on the bay for a few hours. We also really enjoyed being able to go aboard the tallship Matthew Turner after our sail. This sail on the Seaward would make a great trip for out-of-town visitors, or for a "stay-cation" activity as we did -- I *highly* recommend a sail on The Seaward.

We did the Friday night sunset cruise and had wonderful weather and great sailing. The crew was friendly and professional. They asked if anyone wanted to help hoist the sails and the volunteers can now add that to their resumes! We had one young sailor onboard who was not quite three years old, and the crew was especially nice to her. They supplied her with extra fruit and she loved it. The captain was very willing to explain things to us and it was a very enjoyable evening. Highly recommend!

What could be better than a sunset sail on a magnificent 82-foot schooner with a top-notch crew watching the sun set with views of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges. Then the lights of the city came up and the Bay Lights on the Bay Bridge. I unreservedly recommend Call of the Sea. What makes it even better is that your sail supports the excellent educational work they do.
