They are open only in the afternoon so you need to plan ahead. It will take about 1-2 hours to see it all - depending on if you want read all the details. The staff was very friendly.

The museum was not expensive and it had a lot to see in that museum.

We first found the Morongo Basin Artists. There were some nice paintings and there painted animals.

I liked the Rocks and the minerals. I like that!

Also it asked how to survive in a desert.

They had real animals in the museum: a tortoise, snakes,, insects and butterflies.

There were big animals, but they were not alive: A puma, a wolf..

There were a lot of pots.

This is a must see!

A small facility but the displays encompass the unique flora and fauna of the Morongo Basin and Joshua Tree. The center also hosts "brown-bag" lunch discussions covering the history of the region, environment/conservation, local species, and more. Plus, the museum also hosts ensemble musical programs. I suggest checking out their website for upcoming events when you visit.

lots to see here. If you have kids, take them to see the toy exhibit before it leaves. They have live critters, a great short video on painted lady migration-you could spend 1 hour easy!

This is an easy to visit, small but interesting nature museum. Good people work there and volunteer there and they know their stuff when it comes to local ecology and nature. Nice exhibits and an occasional special event.

This is a fairly good sized museum with all information and exhibits about things that are of particular to this geographic area.

Old mining exhibits local Native pieces and even examples of the local plants and animals... some of them even still alive!

The Dosent are friendly and knowledgeable and if you time it right there are events that will provide even more information

We were visiting the area for several days so it made sense to stop and see what there was to learn about the surroundings. It was a worthwhile visit. It was also free.

The museum is small but very complete. Local history and intrigueing exhibits hold your interest. I always like the living exhibits. There are many things for youngsters learning and enjoyment..

The lecture and book signing was on "The Land of Little Rain" by Mary Hunter Austin and presented by Walter Feller was excellent and educational. Don't miss it if it will be presented again.

It's different every time I come here. Local artists have an area where they routinely display their work. The work is constantly changing and always interesting. There is a children's section. There are many taxidermy examples of the local wildlife, (bobcats, birds, coyotes, etc.). There are some live snakes, insects, etc. in the children's area. The staff is always friendly and helpful.
