We visited and had a tour with just ourselves. The guide was informative, enthusiastic and friendly. We loved the history and the house itself.

This was such an interesting tour, the house location was selected because of the direct line of sight to Pikes Peak. The entire house is furnished with beautiful pieces, some original some donated. Thank goodness the home was saved from demolition by a local ladies organization, I heard about this group on a few occasions about properties they rescued from demo. Thank goodness for these ladies.

We toured the house with 2 ladies also from out of state and the four of us had lots of questions for Deanna, our tour guide and I believe the manager here. There were some repairs needed here and there but she advised they recently received a grant and have begun the work. There’s an interesting history to the home and Deanna lined it out well, she wasn’t at all thrown off by our questions and her spiel was not all stiff and memorized as we sometimes see in these tours. Worth a visit.

The tour of the McAllister house was excellent. Our guide shared fantastic stories and pointed out individual items with a history in the house. I love the connections to the builder of the house as well as those who lived there. Very enjoyable.

Patrick is an amazing docent with so much knowledge of the history of the home and family plus local and state history. The home is beautifully restored with several family items. There is so much Colorado Springs history intertwined with mining and Colorado state history in this home. Well worth the visit!

I can't say enough good thing things about the McAllister House Museum! The McAllister House was the very first home built in the Falcon Colony (Colorado Springs). The history you will learn and the artifacts you will see, will blow your mind. The tour guide we had was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Everyone living in, or visiting Colorado Springs...should visit the McAllister House Museum.

This gem has tours available which I recommend. My docent was the manager of the property and a wealth of information. The furnishings are combination of original and of the time period. Near other things to do in town.

This house museum, the earliest home in Colorado Springs, built in 1873 was a great find. Our tour guide, Patrick, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and open to any and all questions. The hour long tour focused on the house inhabitants, Major McAllister and his wife and children, their possessions and info about the founding of Colorado Springs, of which McAllister along with his mentor, General Palmer, were instrumental in developing. And after the tour, the curator, Eric, spent time answering questions and providing additional insights. And at $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, what a value!

We visited the museum and spent a couple of hours learning about Colorado Springs history, architecture and culture from the early days of the territory. If you like history, this is a great tour to take.

Ok, it's a house, but very interesting in architecture and history. Located at 423 North Cascade Ave. in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Maintained and operated by the Daughters of the American Revolution. A Dame will take you on an informative tour of period items and photos and answer any relevant question [ask what is in the locked closet].

It is on the National Register of Historic Places.
