Tripadvisors tilnærming til anmeldelser

The location is high, nestled in the middle of the Rocky Mountains and offers spectacular views.
The interesting thing about the place is its geographical significance: it marks the continental hydrological divisions (rain on one side runs Pro west, on the other side Pro east).
Access is via safe highway, but winding and without guard rail at some points. Caution in the direction is essential here.

Always worth the drive.
It's the continental divide - don't NOT go.
Easy to take gorgeous photos and to see a full 360 view of everything beautiful that ever was.

The windy roads to Loveland Pass were brutal but the view was worth it. Great drive up scenic outlook.

Great place to hike the many trails around the pass. The windy parking lot is on side of the paved road and from there you can hike up and up and down. There are many peaks to conquer and lakes to wander around, like the Pass lakes nearby. In the night you get great views of the starry sky with the Milky Way shining across the sky.

On my day trip from Denver to Grand Junction, I decided to take Route 6 from I-70 and cross the Continental Divide at Loveland Pass. It was a fine September afternoon, and the drive was scenic and very enjoyable. I stopped at the Continental Divide overlook and took a short walk up the hill to get a look from the highpoint. The mountainous view is beautiful, but it was a windy day. Getting back on Route 6 from the small parking lot required extra caution because the view of the traffic was limited both ways. There are hiking trails in the area but I did not go hiking. In sum, the drive was beautiful, and in fact was equally enjoyable continuing on to Dillon on Route 6.

Climb Mount Sniktau while you're here - it is a 13er and a good way to get used to the altitude without going too far. The incline at the very beginning is INSANE and I thought I was going to have an asthmatic attack right then. But the rest really isn't so bad, just windy! & bring sunscreen!

Since we are not skiers, we visited in the summer. Just a drive through visit where we stopped at the overviews, but the mountains were impressive as always, there was enough dirty snow for people to sled in, and the drive was easy.

Amazing view up at the continental divide by the Loveland pass. Only few miles from Kystone. Hiking time 45 minutes.

A must do. We were driving cross country and heading west from Denver area. We made this stop and had to put on a winter coat, socks and scarf! after wearing short sleeves earlier. It was well worth it !
Take Rte 6 off of I-70 (an alternative to the Eisenhower Tunnel). The road is windy but scenery is beautiful. When you get to the marker for Continental Divide, pull over and wander around for a beautiful view of snow capped mountains and fresh air, 11,990 feet about sea level.

Great views. Fun for the traveler who is from closer to sea level. We made it halfway up the stairs and wound up gasping and laughing hysterically at the same time. Definitely worth a visit!

Hi! We will be driving from breckendrige to Denver next september and Eisenhower makes me scared. Loveland pass would be safe?
Thanks in advance!!
Skrevet 9. august 2022
Loveland Pass has no connection to the city of Loveland, CO. It is two hours from Loveland/Fort Collins or an hour from Denver. You'll see the exit on Hwy 70 on your way to Breckenridge.

How would the driving be for someone who is scared of heights? We’re visiting family next week and they want to do this but I’ll need to be the driver in a separate car. I’m afraid of heights and don’t like driving up mountains; so I fear this may not be an option. Any information you can share will be so appreciated!

Have someone else drive, I am from the east coast, it freaked me out

Has anyone been here recently (Dec 2018) that could comment on the conditions? Planning on taking the detour during our Denver to Breckenridge drive Saturday and really hoping to be able to see the views, but concerned it might be snowed out. Thanks!

Yeah jut check with the highway conditions and if there is a storm rolling in. They keep it pretty clear.

I need some assistance! I'm from Texas, heading that way in Feb for our elopement. Our plan is to get married some place amazing with mountains in the background (the closer, the better!). We wouldn't even mind a lake too. We have about 5 people that might be with us, one in her '90's so prefer a very short walk. We are prepared for cold, snow, sun... whatever. We want to save our money for our reception when we go back home. Does anyone have any ideas of a nice place in the outdoors, easily accessible to say our vows? We wouldn't mind anywhere within 2-3 hours of Denver. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

A couple of Ideas:
1 ==> the top loveland pass would work. All you do is drive to the car park at the top and walk to the other side of the road were there is a great view to the west also there is a sign showing that you are on the Continental divide.
2 ==> you can just ride up in one of the gondola at keystone to the top where you can have your ceremony then ride the gondola back down. You could also have some food or drinks prior to going back down.
3 ==> Keystone also has a lake, that is keep cleared, this area is easily accessible and has a wide verity of different pictures opportunities .

We're visiting Colorado this coming July. We'll be driving from Denver to Grand Junction on a Saturday morning, then driving back the following Wednesday. We want to do Loveland Pass one way and Eisenhower Tunnel the other way. Any preferences on which one to do which direction?
Skrevet 31. mars 2017
I recommend Loveland pass there and Eisenhower back. Make sure to stop on the top of Loveland to enjoy the views and take pics. There will still be snow there and it's always windy and colde so have warm clothes. Enjoy!

Just curious how long is the drive. I will be coming from the north side
I will be driving on loveland pass may be on 21st december or 222 dec if there are no snow storm that day. Looks a bit scary but i am encouraged by the reviews of so many travellers

I'm not sure. We were going to keystone from Denver. We parked at Loveland pass and walked the trail.

Eastbound travelers: do yourselves a favor and after going over Loveland Pass and getting back on I-70, STAY on I-70 and don't try taking the exit down old Hwy 6/Bakerville/(whatever) through Silver Plume. The speed limit is 25mph through town and is being aggressively enforced! Just stay on the highway and you will get home to Denver (or wherever) eventually and with less effort...believe me. Or just don't come thru on the weekend and avoid traffic troubles entirely. Travel smart and safe.
Skrevet 22. juli 2015
Sometimes it is more peaceful to take the road less travelled however, you do end up driving through neighborhoods. I understand why they would prefer to keep traffic on I-70. We often avoid the traffic by enjoying a nice leisurely dinner up in Summit County and leaving after the peak time or just leaving earlier. It is just less stressful.
