This was a ten minute walk from the train station.
It is a lovely, modern building.
By the way, the restrooms and cafe are lovely. There is indoor and outdoor seating for the cafe and the servers are unusually nice.
The permanent collection has some gems and the changing exhibitions offer interesting perspectives.

When we went to the Bruce for the first time, we were pleased to be met by a beautiful building, both interior and exterior. Wonderful Warhol and Jennifer Angus exhibits were superbly curated and thought-provoking (especially the Angus rooms). The piece in the staircase by Gabriel Dawe -- thousands of line of thread in different colors creating a dazzling rainbow effect -- offers awe-inspiring optical effects and an illuminating back story. Great museum to visit. Look forward to returning soon.

I always saw the signs and the advertisements for this museum, and I finally decided to go to see it. There was no admission fee on a Tuesday when I went to visit this museum, but otherwise, there was a fee for entry into this site. There was a large area for free parking in a parking lot right on this museum’s property, and this museum was extremely close to Interstate-95. I really enjoyed the fancy artwork, the natural science displays (especially the real aquatic animals and the dinosaurs), and the beautiful collections of crystals. I spent about an hour at this museum, and there were options to traverse this building via an elevator and via some stairs. The staff members and the security officers were pleasant. I briefly explored the gift shop, but I did not see the cafeteria nor the classrooms. There were many loud children who were also visiting this museum campus.

I decided to check this place out while my husband was attending a convention in White Plains, and I was impressed. I loved that it included both art and science. I was able to enjoy both and learn a little in the process. The museum is kind of small, but it contains a lot. I am glad I chose The Bruce to visit while in the area.

The new Bruce Museum is magnificent. The art. The natural history. The whole thing. They did such a wonderful job expanding the safe and the collection. Truly impressive.

The Bruce Museum has always been a gem in the Greenwich community. It is bigger and even better now.

Very nice local museum. We wanted to see the ‘New Bruce’. In many ways it does not disappoint. Beautiful galleries, nicely displayed and themed collections and mostly informative signage. Interesting and varied. The first art you come across is a textile sculpture by Gabriel Dawe that is just a show stopper.
We were looking forward to the minerals. A very nice collection and nicely lit and displayed but the information and signage was very underwhelming. No chemical symbols for a start, and what would have made it much more relevant is more information of how minerals are used in our every day lives. In cell phones for instance?
The penguin exhibition was fascinating but seemed slightly out of place in coastal CT. But enjoyed it nevertheless. Young families around us certainly did, as well as the gallery of local nature. Real fish!
The cafe was fine, some nice healthy options and unlike DC museums we had visited recently, offered some gluten free options. Five stars for that. Same for the bathrooms.
The gift shop seemed remarkably small and was stocked with what seemed a lot of art books, puzzles and note cards. I would have liked to buy something but couldn’t find anything for either myself or a gift. The jewelry selection was ok. Scarves looked cheap and uninteresting. As a former gift shop owner I think the museum is missing a huge earning opportunity here. People love to shop in museum gift shops. There are no gift shops in the near vicinity and with a well heeled, discerning local population as well as seasonal visitors it could do very well. I did not notice anything made in CT. Apart from a few leather items the majority appeared to be made in China. Why not sell some pottery and art work made in CT, unique scarves, how about the decoy birds made by of Woodbury, Connecticut artist Richard Morgan? Nice dish towels? Hand made soaps? I would have settled for a nice porcelain mug with ‘Hot stuff’ at the Bruce. Or all those mineral symbols LOL.
We enjoyed our visit. How lucky for the people of Greenwich to have this on their doorstep.

The renovation of the museum still isn't done. As others have said, it's not worth it to go before the reno is done.

The Bruce Museum is a nice little museum that is currently undergoing a major expansion project; it might be advisable to wait until the project is finished in late 2021 before visiting all the galleries that would then be open. In the meantime, this museum did have a couple of smaller galleries open on two themes:

1. An overview of the Amazon River Basin and its ecology & peoples. That might be of interest to schoolchildren (a group of which went through the same time I did) looking for a quick overview of this topic, with lots of stuffed animals and their skeletons (donated by a local zoo).

2. An artist's collection of collage works combining Native American imagery with photos taken among the abandoned ruins of nuclear test sites in New Mexico. An interesting mixture, and a reminder when nuclear proliferation & risk used to be a big cultural item.

Definitely you should wait until Construction and creation of the new museum is open. Not worth seeing right now, only two areas to view in one room...takes about 1/2 hour to go through...
I didn't find anything wrong with the old museum and thought it was quite interesting. Although I am waiting for the new museum, which sounds like it will be fantastic.
Just not worth the trip and traffic right now.
