We visited the Cathedral for Sunday eucharistic. A small and very beautiful building with a friendly and welcoming congregation. Lovely music to accompany the service and we would have liked to attend one of the music recitals in during August 2023.

Gorgeous little cathedral tucked away in Millport. We enjoyed a quick visit with our kids and they mainly enjoyed playing in the cute garden and woodland surrounds. Truly quaint and beautiful

It is evident that local people love this place. It is well looked after and cherished. I loved the many needlepoint kneelers and cushions.

Nice little cathedral in a lovey setting, tucked away up one of the side streets. And has a rope swing in the grounds, which is always a bonus.

The Cathedral is on the outskirts of the town and surrounded by trees. It is open every day from 10-5.
It is a lovely C19th building designed by one of the leading Gothic revival architects of the day. If you are expecting a large building, you may be disappointed - this is the smallest Cathedral in Britain. The surrounding buildings are now used as a retreat and study centre.
The easiest entrance is through the porch on the south side. The nave is very plain. There is a lovely open stone arch separating nave and chancel. The walls of the chancel are covered with brightly coloured tiles. The east window has the image of the crucified Christ with Mary and John on either side. Off the chancel is the Lady Chapel, again a very simple chapel.
I was the only visitor and had the place to myself. It is a lovely spot and only a short walk from the sea front.

The Cathedral of the Isles in Millport is a large, attractive church with extra buildings for the accommodation and teaching of visiting students. The grounds are most pleasant and the overall look of the place is smart and attractive.
Because of the current Covid threat however, the church is only open on Sundays for worship, and closed to the public at all other times.
I must say that I can see little sense in such a policy as there would almost invariably be much fewer people in the church as casual visitors than there would be at a service. I have visited several churches over the past few months and we have tended to be the only people there.
That said, we enjoyed our visit nevertheless and look forward to seeing the interior of the church at a later stage when church policy permits access.

Just had to tell the world what a great location and venue this is. The building, the grounds, the rooms and location was exactly what we expected. However, the host Patrick, was fantastic in making all feel welcome and indeed serving the best breakfast in Scotland!! Cant wait to go back.

You find the friendliest of people here and it is the loveliest of buildings that really dominates the skyline with it's spire
