Nice place to explore

Downtown Mystic is a nice area to explore by foot, as there are a lot of good shops and buildings. One thing surely to explore is the main bridge, especially when it’s being opened whenever there’s a ship need to pass. It’s interesting to see the bridge ‘open’ and ‘close’.

Off season- great time to visit!

One of my favorite places to go to do some early Christmas shopping, still pretty crowded as it was a beautiful October Saturday. We were fortunate to find a spot on Main! Friday night we tried the new brewery Bank and Bridge. Cool use of an old Bank building- vault intact. Good food and great craft selection
Missed Drawbridge Ice cream this time - we were off to some local wineries —need to plan another day trip!

Beautiful Little Town

We were stunned by the beauty of this little town. We quickly learned that the draw bridge was the center attraction. Walked the downtown in the evening and came back the next morning to take pictures.

Lots of things crammed into a small area.

Plenty of shops and restaurants all in walking distance from one another. It was pretty easy driving through town, although a bit slow. Watch out for crosswalks, as people just walk in front of you without looking, not giving you much of a chance to "yield". There is a small boardwalk you can take down along the river, and benches to sit and watch the boats of have an ice cream. Parking is a challenge. We found nothing on a Saturday evening, but did manage a space during the week after lunchtime. Nice little town to stroll around in.

The Mystic Experience

The biggest challenge was finding parking but if you're willing to walk a bit, you can find it in the local neighborhood. There are some cute shops, bakeries, eateries and ice creams stores. This is a quaint little town that is definitely worth the visit.

Fun town to walk through

We stayed 3 nights at the Whalers Inn. We were located right across the bridge from the town. It was an easy walk. The town has numerous restaurants, pubs, and shops. Plus a few ice cream stores. Spend some enjoyable time walking through this area.

So Much Fun

Lots of shops and restaurants in this beautiful New England seaside town. The Mystic Museum ,shops and restaurants are all within a short walk from each other. A wonderful way to spend a summer day.

Overrun With Tourists

Old Mystic is a quaint seaside port with a lot to offer including the beautiful and informative Seaport Museum. However, the historic downtown area was so crowded you couldn't walk down West Main Street without getting bumped jostled or required to walk around folks blocking the walkway while they gawked at shops, talked aimlessly and ignored others!!! Would definitely recommend the town but go in the off season!!! Parking was almost impossible and traffic tie ups were constant.

Love the ice cream

We actually looked for an ice cream in Mystic area, then got a chance to visit this small old village. It was nice to do shopping in such a relax place!
