We decided to take a ride out to Glasgow Park to view their Christmas lights this holiday season. Last year they had a drive-thru display. Not sure IF they offered it this year, but they did put out the decorations again. We saw that they had a few lighted trees around the Frazer House where they hold the farmer's market. So, we stopped one night to take a look. It is a big park and it seems like the decorations almost get lost. I feel like they could do a lot more with the land that they have.

We stopped by Glasgow Park one Friday night when they were supposed to be having their outdoor Farmer's Market. On this particular date, the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile was also scheduled to be on location in the Farmer's Market area.
Upon arrival, we did spot the Weinermobile. After quite a long wait in line, we were able to get our picture taken with the Weinermobile. After getting our picture taken, we decided to check out the few stands that were set up in the Farmer's Market area. I was disappointed to find very few vendors. There were maybe 8 stands at best! I recall seeing a lady with produce, another with baked goods and a few others. We did purchase some baked goods from Beth's Homemade, but passed on most.
Overall, the Farmer's Market at Glasgow Park was very tiny. It was much smaller than I remember it being a few years back. It was really disappointing. The only upside to this visit was that the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile was visiting. The COVID car was also on location.
Note: This park also has a dog park, tennis courts, basketball courts, a skate park, snow sledding hill, walking paths, children's playground, picnic pavilions and etc. My review is only of the areas I visited on this date.

The park and trail are pleasant enough and the playgrounds looked nice. But every one of the six chemical toilets I peered into was utterly disgusting. I’m a retired nurse, and when a nurse says something is disgusting you may be sure that it is. I mentioned it to someone I asked directions of and he said it was always like this. If you have a contractor for cleaning, he or she should be fired and sued. If park employees are assigned this task they should be fired. A nauseating situation destructive of an otherwise pleasant place.

Enjoyed the space at the dog park with our doggos! Only issue would be people not adhering to the posted rules of dog sizes in the area. I have two large dogs, one is not ok with small dogs. Someone walked in with a teacup dog to the large dog park and I told them it is for large dogs only. They told me that their dog is used to big dogs. I replied that my large dog is not okay with little dogs.
Always be cautious at dog parks because signs are there for a reason. Dogs need to be 4 months or older because that is when they should have all their vaccinations (rule is for the protection of your pup!). Large dogs can be carriers in their urine and feces and unintentionally expose a younger dog leading to severe illness or death because 4 months is the optimal time for their immune system and vaccines to be working. Additionally, 4 months and younger are very impressionable. If they have a bad experience, it could have a lifetime effect. Please follow the posted rules!

We went here for the Merry & Bright Holiday Lights festive drive-through holiday light display over the weekend of Dec 11/12. Show was from 6-9pm both nights. We went to the park and got in line around 7:10pm. Line was backed up from inside the park and spilling out onto Route 40. There was a lighted sign out on 40 that said the wait time from the sign to the display entrance was 1 hour. We sat in the traffic as it was guided from the highway and then into the park. From Route 40 there were 2 lines of traffic(westbound and eastbound) funneling into the park road. Police were directing traffic. We noticed that the traffic from the Westbound lane was funneling quicker than those that had entered from the Eastbound lane. It was quite frustrating to see the other lane constantly moving as we sat there and sat there and sat there! Around 8:10 we were finally entering the gated area around the Frazer house and barns. So, the quoted wait time of 1 hour was accurate.
Once in the light display, we saw some light strand trees attached to the barns, an inflatable elf & snowman. Once we rounded the bend from the barns, we got a better look at the Frazer house. It had lights on the porch. A few lighted candy canes led the way from the barns to the Glasgow Park Christmas tree and Santa in his sleigh. Here Santa waved and greeted everyone. Once past the Frazer house, the bases of several of the tall trees were wrapped in colorful lights. Here was saw a live snowman before rounding the bend to head back towards the house. Back beside the house we saw the live Abominable Snowmonster of the North (Bumble) and a live gingerbread man. The final turn revealed a couple of mounted police officers. Their horses had on Santa hats.
Overall, this light display was just OK. You could view most of it from the bordering highways. Driving through it was OK, but not worth the 1 hour wait. Traffic was congested and not well managed. The décor was limited compared to the other Merry & Bright Holiday Lights festival done at Rockwood park. It was FREE and they did a decent job, but it was not amazing. This light show was a little disappointing after having seen the other one the weekend before.
I would recommend this park for walking, the kids playground area, the hill for snowtubing in the winter and such. I would NOT recommend for a drive thru light display in the future unless they improve the traffic pattern.

Glasgow Park is a family park where the entire family can have fun. I especially enjoy the large Hill which I have named "the Mountain at Glasgow" when walking or running this hill I have the most invigorating feeling when I reach the top. Not to mention the trail is definitely a peaceful time for me to walk and be one with nature.

Glasgow Park is appealing to all age groups, as it ranges from that area to walk your dog, or meet friends in the skatepark on a Friday.

This year we decided to check out the annual tree lighting at Glasgow Park. The night it was scheduled for was a drizzly evening, but the event was advertised as rain or shine. So, we packed up and headed on over. Once there we were instructed to park in the playground parking lots. Here we stood and waited for a school bus to pick us up and shuttle us over to the Frazer House & Glasgow Park Bank Barn. We probably had to wait about 10 minutes for a bus. A couple went by without stopping before we finally caught one. It did not seem very organized.
Once at the barn we got off and walked around. There were a handful of food trucks set out. Inside one of the barns they had some vendors, selling gifts and food. There was also a church there doing a kids craft, which we found cute. Our kids made a button wreath. Out back they had a kids "train" where the kids could ride around the parking lot. Our kids did this as well since there was no line due to the rain. Beside the Frazer House there is a pavilion. In this pavilion they had another kids craft where they could make a melted snowman ornament and get FREE cookies. We also did this craft and had some cookies! Behind the pavilion they had an inflatable movie screen up playing Christmas Movies. I think it was playing Elf. We did not choose to watch it since it was a little drizzly out. Beside the Frazer house they had the tree lighting. The tree was smaller than I had expected for such a large park, but it was still pretty. My only complaint with the actual tree lighting is that it was slow to get started as they had several politicians there making speeches. Behind the tree they had a makeshift stage set up where various groups were scheduled to play & singing Christmas carols (think school bands). The Dela-Bear was also here to greet everyone on stage. I did NOT see the bear walking around the park though. Inside the Frazer house, you could visit with Santa. The line for this was rather long as the house had an awning around it where you could get out of the rain. However, once we got to see Santa it was very nice. Each family were guided into an individaul room where tyou could meet with Santa alone. You could take your own photos & even choose a prize from the toy bin. That was really nice.
Overall, we really enjoyed the Glasgow Park Annual Tree Lighting event. There were several free activities (Santa visit, musical performances, kiddie train, movie, crafts, tree lighting, etc) to choose from in addition to the holiday market & food vendors. We did purchase a few ornaments from a local girl scout troop that were there as vendors. It was a very family friendly event and it really didn't cost us anything. I would attend this event again. I hope it continues to improve and grow. I would love to see chestnuts roasting and hot cocoa.

Great for walking, walking your dog, socializing your dog with small or large other dogs, taking your special needs child for a great play day, skateboarding, going to the farmer's market, etc. This is just a wonderful community oriented park that serves the needs of most people in the community. We have never seen a park quite like this and are so glad we don't live too far away.

What is the roll-up door for in the pavilions? Just wondering if that’s accessible for the party supplies?

I have only walk around the park, but I know that pavillions can be reserved but I do not know any phone number to contact. Yes it gets busier there in the summer.

Not really sure. I think there is a plaque on the property with that information
Are there any pavilions available on Sunday in September or October 2015 for an Employee Appreciation Day for approximately 150-200 people?

They are available for rent until Oct 31. Just pull up the park and all the information is there.
I would like to know what is going to be done with the homes and barns that are fenced off, will they allow someone to restore them back.
