Limited days open and limited hours on those days. Parking available nearby. Not busy when I was here. I was able to use covid protocols by wearing a mask and not getting close to anyone. I'm into archeology and anthropology. I came here specifically for the exhibits about those areas of interest, especially of pre-Columbian civilizations and proples. And also of Mediterranean and African cultures.

The Lowe Art Museum on the bustling University of Miami Campus has been a source of delectation, since I moved to South Florida in 1979.The other day,I returned to this fine, small, currently free art museum and enjoyed its delightful glass creations again.Favorite glass creations that especially fascinated me were;Eric Markow and Thomas Norris'"Summer,Zenith,Kimono",Robin Grebe's"Edifice",Richard Jolley's"Blue Head With Flowers",Emily Brock's"Hotel Lobby",Christine Federighi's"Globe",Robet Arneson's"Nasal Flat",and Hank Murta Adams'"Spool".Dale Chihuly,Harvey Littleton,William Morris, and Janusz Walentynowicz were also well-represented in the Lowe Art Museum's Glass Pavillion.
I was also fortunate enough to see its small, but quality collection of European Old Master Paintings on display. It was wonderful relishing these fine paintings again;Lippo Vanni's"Madonna and Child Enthroned With Donors and Saints Dominic and Elizabeth"(Late Medieval Italian, produced at time of Avignon Papacy),Guidoccio Cozzarelli's"Annunciation and Journey To Bethlehem(Italian Renaissance),Juisepe Ribera's"Saint Peter"(Spanish Mannerism),El Greco's"Feast In House of Simon"(Spanish Baroque),Adriean Isenbrant's"Madonna and Child With Hillenberger Family Member"(Netherlandish Renaissance),Jacob Jordaens'"Judgement of Paris"(Flemish Baroque),Giovanni Paolo Panini's"Capriccio of Classical Ruins With Healing Lame At Pool of Bethesda"(Italian Neoclassical)and Guisseppe Crespi's"Lady With Dog"(Italian Baroque).
I also saw fine Contemporary works of Art by Pat Steir("Monk Ayko Meditating Waterfall"),Kehinde Wiley("3 Field Defense"),Frank Stella, and Samuel Jones'"Poplar Trees".
Quality paintings by following painters were not on display, during my recent visit;Bacchiacca,Bernardino Fungai,Sophinisba Anguissola,Thomas Gainesborough,Claude Monet,Alfred Sisley,Paul Gauguin, and American David Park.
The Lowe Art Museum is truly a less discovered South Florida treasure.

I love art so I had to visit, but the museum has such a great and eclectic mix of art that I would recommend to anyone with even a passing interest in art. The new exhibits are very powerful.

Come here if you love glass. This is the highlight of this museum. A dedicated wing to studio glass artists., It is a museum with an interesting collection of art from around the world remarkable for such a small museum. However the glass is definitely the highlight . Worth an hour if you are in Miami. Inexpensive. Check out the rotating special exhibits.

Easy to find, reasonably priced (yelp gets 1/2 off) and a good way to spend an hour or two in non-crowded environment. Never found the garage spaces, your other option is that hideous park by phone - I keep thinking the system was invented as a means of charging more $$ than you would be willing to shell out in quarters - but it's pervasive throughout South Florida. Space is not cluttered. Some of the art suffers from the too self-conscious theme of the overtly political (and is accompanied by signage demanding the viewer acknowledge various oppressions, real or imagined) but most of it is interesting. Security personnel don't seem to know how to 'disappear' as they do in other museums; sometimes feel a little too present. Worth a stop.

Wide variety to please everyone in our group. I recommend the glass gallery for its overall setting and content. Wish it had a museum catalog for sale

The Lowe Art Museum was a pleasant surprise! I have been wanting to go for years and finally made it. The collection spans thousands of years and is well displayed. The Palley gallery was very nice and worth the visit alone. Allow for at least 1 hour. Metered parking was available right out front on the street on a Saturday afternoon. Not sure what parking would be like when class is in session.

Thanks to the Miami Dade Public Library System we went for for free to this museum located inside the beautiful University of Miami.
The Lowe Art Museum was a very nice experience for us, with impeccable floors, different exhibitions, a friendly staff, wonderful security system and team. I parked across the entrance but I'm glad I asked because the lady told me that I can park for free on the museum's parking lot at the left of the main entrance.
They had an exhibition of a Cuban artist plus many more. It was beautiful to guess what type of materials the artist used and then my son checked my guess reading the description.
My favorite part was the section of the Native American, where you can see how they survived, lived and worked.
Adult entrance fee is $12.5 and if you check in with Yelp you get 50% off that fee. UM staff and students enter for free.
My son went back today with a friend since we still had two more tickets and they both liked it.
