My wife had never been to a drive-in except as a child. Now its become a bi-annual trip from cocoa beach lol
We came to lakeland this trip for 34th anniversary

Swap meet during the day great staff
Great value for the price.
Only negative was the fiesta pizza... obviously microwaved, both of ours were still frozen in the center, and sausage bits like ice chips, but by time we got back to car and noticed, concession was closed.

We have been coming to the Silver Moon Drive Inn Theater for a couple of years now and always have enjoyed the experience. We visited last week for a showing of Disney’s Hocus Pocus and we brought a friend who had never experienced a drive in movie before.
I seldom carry cash and neither dies my husband or friend. The theater dues take credit cards but this night, they did not have internet so could not process credit card transactions. Luckily I had enough and it was discount night which made it that much better. The regular price is $6 per adult and on the night we went it was $4 per adult.
We parked and my husband and our friend went to the concession stand (our first time doing this) to get some food and drinks. They ordered pizza, hot dogs, fried cheese, popcorn and sodas...much more food than we needed or were able to eat. We wanted to try out a good selection. The pizza was 14 in with very thin crust and it was good. The hot dogs were very flavorful and seemed to be good quality. The fried cheese was probably our least favorite as the outer coating was not at all crisp but it was still good. Everything was fairly low priced for a movie theater especially. A problem arose when the worker took their order, went to fill the order before giving them the total. Yes, they could have added it up themselves but they thought we had plenty of cash...we didn’t. When they said, we would have to not take a couple oof things, they were told it’s all prepared so you can’t. Not the right answer in any circumstance as if someone doesn’t have money to pay for it all, they can’t take it of course. Luckily I had quite a bit of change in my car(($5) so they were able to go back and pay for the entire order. Not having enough cash was our fault, not having he ability to take credit cards was not known before we went was a challenge and the way the worker handled it should have been a little better. I’m sure this doesn’t often happen so we accept this as a one off challenge.
Once you park your car in the theater lot, they tell you what radio station to program on your car radio so you can hear the previews and movies. Larger vehicles are asked to park in the back and if you want to leave your hatch or lift gate open, your car should be parked in the back. We have a convertible and we put the top down and brought a lawn chair so no one had to remain in the backseat which would have been challenging to see the movie.
If you plan to go, we recommend that you bring cash and credit card if you like, bring mosquito repellent, lawn chairs for anyone not in the front seat unless you have a pick up truck and you sit in the bed, pillows and blankets for your comfort. I think you can bring your own snacks and drinks but you are encouraged to use their concession snack bar and after our experience doing so we recommend that you buy snacks and drinks there too. It contributes to supporting this wonderful local business and the preservation of this awesome drive in theater. I hadn’t been to a drive in since I was a little kid and this is fun and it feels like a much safer way to see a movie rather than going to an inside movie theater during this COVID-19 pandemic. We didn’t take photos as it was too dark to see them well.

Employee at toll booth at drive in had no mask, and was basically all up in our car while trying to pull up tickets on phone. Completely missing the point of us trying to have socially distant fun. Dangerous and disgusting, is too bad as the actual theatre experience is usually good.

I am a millennial and that means a lot of things but one thing it definitely means is that drive-in movies were not a staple of my summer's growing up. So in a year of a pandemic why not switch things up even more and bring back drive-ins? I was blown away by the sound quality, the concessions and prices. We had such a great time and can't go back to watch another classic.

Felt like a kid again. Set up lawn chairs, had movie popcorn, and candy! Sounds was great even outside the car. Beautiful night with stars and train in the background. Movie and bathrooms and snack bar in fantastic shape for 70 years! Loved it. Even got a shirt for $10!

We hadn't been in awhile so since the weather was good we drove over. We got there early and had seen on the web page it opened at 6:30 with the movie at 8. Well the parking lot didn't open until after 7. We also noticed since our last visit that there are no more speakers to attach to your car. Everything is done through your car radio or you can rent a radio from them. Still a deal for the movie at $6 per person and first run movies. Great date night activity.

Take a timemachine and zip yourself back some 40 years at Silvermoon drive in movie theatre! We enjoyed every bit of it! A fun experience for evereybody!

Having never been to a drive in cinema before we were unsure as to what to expect. Silvermoon was easy to find and good value for money. We bought snacks in the shop which were fine (very much what I would expect at a small cinema on price and quality). The sound was easy to find on the radio station and the screen was easy to see. It was really enjoyable and we would go back again!

I have been a frequent attender at the Silvermoon Drive-in but this week was my last time. The parking lines are just over 20 feet apart and they expect 2 cars to fit in a spot. My car is small 5.5 feet wide so I just generally pull into the middle of my half of the space. The last year they have taken to having you move so you are where they think is best. This has resulted in several occasions where they moved me too close one way or the other. I tried complaining to management but I got nothing so I won’t go again. Don’t bother going here unless you like having someone have you move needlessly and even put you in a position where your car might get dinged by your neighbor.

On Friday and Saturdays it says the movie starts at 12, does this mean that both movies go on until 4am or is the 10pm showing usually on first and the second one is at 12? Thanks in advance!

Do I pay for both movies at the start? Or if I just want to watch the first movie can I leave after easily as we are hiring a fairly big car?

You pay at the booth when you enter, and it's a flat rate per person.
You can leave at anytime, and there's usually enough room in the car park to do this
If you have a big vehicle, it's expected that you Park towards the back of the car park

Don't know, but I don't see why not. You will need a radio to hear the movie. The sound is broadcast thru the radio in your car.
