Many years since my visit and things have improved with a lot of work having been done to freshen up this most interesting abbey. It is now a really good place to visit with lots of information available as one goes around this quite large building. A lovely setting although a bit out in the wilds but well worth the journey. A truly tranquil place to visit.

This is a beautiful historical abbey, with a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere. We and (contrary to the advice on the website!) our dog, were given a very warm and informative welcome by the EH supervisor. So many interesting artefacts to view- an absolute treasure.

What a lovely place to visit. It’s a bit off the beaten track but worth it. You can see the footprint of the Original abbey. Very knowledgeable staff. Shame we couldn’t go in side because of Covid, but we know that before we visited.

Arrived just before my pre-booked time on Saturday and a beautiful morning indeed.
Very friendly an informative welcome and with an essential purchase of the guidebook it was back outside to explore the main site.
At present the abbey cannot be viewed inside due to restrictions being in place.
Mainly Anglo-Saxon church remains, this is an interesting site, the parish church's exterior architecture also is worth exploring(church closed on this visit), as is the abbey's arches on an exterior wall.
Good place to start the day before heading off to Tintinhull gardens.

This was a spur of the moment visit after visiting several NT properties locally, I thought it was lovely. I enjoyed really meandering around and soaking up the atmosphere.

The young chap working there was welcoming and friendly, I highly recommend this as somewhere to visit.

What an amazing find this was on a trip through Somerset. The young man on the desk was very welcoming and advised on the abbey prior to going around. The Abbey, grounds and church are absolutely stunning, if your in the area it’s well worth stopping. Only £6 an adult. Drinks, ice cream are available within the gift shop.

This was a very interesting visit and the member of staff at the till was very informative and knowledgeable.
A lot of the Abbey was demolished after the dissolution of the Abbey's by Henry VIII but there are a couple of the buildings remaining which are very interesting and it is good to walk over the grounds and the ruins.
Parking is free and a small entrance fee to the buildings which is well worth it. No Café but drinks and some food and ice creams available.

Lovely, tranquil site. Definitely a place to have a picnic! The Abbot's house is very well preserved and definitely worth looking around. Well sign posted from the nearest A road. Our dog was allowed everywhere on the site and there was a bowl of water available.

This is a lovely place to visit with some very interesting aspects. Whilst much of it is a ruin, there is a lovely Abbot's house to go round and plenty of things to see.
