Lots of fun for all ages there was a brief description of the ranch and the animals and lots of timeto feed and make friends with all of the animals including a llama!

This is a well run Alpaca Ranch - the tour guide is very knowledgeable and gave a great over view of the operation plus she answered all our questions. Well worth the trip if your interested in Alpacas or just want something fun to do with kids. They'll get to give them treats provided by the ranch.

We went to the open house to see the babies. They are so adorable and the owners and workers are so nice. Very informative.

This is a beautiful alpaca ranch with adorable alpacas. Loved the gift shop but be prepared - the goods are pricey. You can buy feed for the animals. I didn't do the tour but may sign up for that next winter. It was a fun visit.

Watch for the "guest entrance" sign and wander through the store or feed the alpaca's at the fence ( feed sold in the house/store). Schedule a tour or purchase alpaca products to support this venture.

We really enjoyed our visit to the ranch. Brenda is very gracious, sharing her knowledge with us about her Alpacas, and we learned what is involved with caring for them. We were able to feed them and take many photos with them! Such fun!! Thank you Brenda.

This tour was great. We had driven past the ranch and seen the alpacas. A friend told us they did tours so I did my research. In the summer the tours are around 8:30 am and reservations are needed. If you check the website you will see the tours that are scheduled. My husband and I had a private tour and learned a lot. Brenda knew each animal and showed her love for them. We had fun just watching and feeding. They have several properties in the area so make sure you go to the address on your ticket.

The Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch is a great family friendly activity for the Tampa/St. Pete area. The ranch is on a beautiful lakeside property in Odessa.You will be amazed with the alpaca. They are very special animals. The tour lets you get up close and personal with the alpaca. You get to feed them, pet them, and take lots of pictures. The presentation before the tour is very educational and you learn so much about the animals. You will not be disappointed with the tour from the Golden Spirit Staff. They are knowledgeable and friendly. We had so much fun on our tour during spring break that my daughter decided to take a group of friends there for her 12th birthday.

The Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch in Odessa Florida may be a little out of the way, but it's a great opportunity for an up close and personal interaction with the staff and animals at a working Alpaca Ranch.
Golden Spirit breeds and sells Alpaca and produces Alpaca fiber, but this review is focused on the tour experience.
For a very affordable price, we were made part of a small (7 people) group of guests. The tour started in the gift shop where we were provided a brief history of the ranch and information about Alpaca biology. We then headed out to the Alpaca pens.
Guests were provided unlimited food for feeding Alpacas and the helpful ranch staff were present at all times to answer questions and aid guests. At the first pen, Alpaca were fed over the fence. They are relatively small (the size of large dogs, with a long neck that brings the head up to eye level), sweet in disposition, and a little skittish. They readily approached and out of hands, and during our visit every guest got to do as much Alpaca feeding as they wanted; the Alpaca were very cooperative.
The second stop on the tour was the highlight. A large group of 30 Alpaca were led into a small pen with the guests for direct interaction. Feeding, petting, photo ops, and a generally fantastic time ensued.
Then it was back to the gift shop for a wrap-up and closing discussion about Alpaca and the ranch.
A delightful experience for anyone who wants to spend a couple of hours learning about Alpaca.

When I toured the grounds, it was an impromptu visit, and so I had not scheduled a tour. I bought feed for the alpaca, visited with them, and toured the gift shop. Unless you schedule a tour, all you're paying for is the feed.
