We have rented a house next to Salinas Park for later this spring. Have I chosen the area of the cape with the murkiest gulf water?

I imagine you are on the Gulf side of the cape, as I don't know of anything next to Salinas on the bay side. The water clarity in the Gulf declines as you go east from Destin, until you get really far down the coast. It is... Mer

My husband and I are vacationing in the area. Unfortunately I have been unable to persuade my better half to book our accommodations on the Cape. We are flying into ECP in August for a week long stay. I would like to make a day trip to Cape San Blas. Is it possible to access the beaches, are there places to change into swimsuits, I hope to vacation on the Cape next year.

We have a trip planned for late June. I've read many reviews about biting flies that have got me really scared. We are staying at house on the north end of the cape on the beach. Can anyone offer any insight that's been in late June as to what their experience was. Also I know CBS enforces the no trace left behind rule. Are items allowed to be left on private boardwalks on the beach as long as they are not on the sand or on the dunes?

Biting flies can be a problem on CSB, generally at still times around sunrise or sunset in interior vegetated areas. Generally there is enough breeze on the beach that they are not bothersome. Bug spray helps. No flies... Mer
