We visited the Florida Holocaust Museum as part of our western Florida exploration tour.
Being from Israel, with my wife being a "Second Generation Holocaust Survivor", we decided to visit this museum.
The museum is small when compared to other establishments in the US, Israel and elsewhere.
However, it is very well presented and gives a complete picture for visitors not well versed in The Holocaust.
the ground floor provides a history and factual presentation of the Holocaust. Everything is clearly displayed and very clear. We were impressed with the exhibit of all genocides worldwide throughout history, starting with the Armenian genocide by the Turks in the 17th century.
The second floor displays two exhibitions by Samuel Bak, a Holocaust survivor. One is themed around candles and the other around dice, emphasizing the luck factor during the Holocaust.
The third floor shows wood carvings based on photos of Holocaust victims, and ceramic tiles with paintings by schoolchildren relating to the Holocaust.
Very touching and emotional.
Small but Powerful Museum!!

I learned a lot. I'm happy it's here for people to see and understand. I hope the museum stay here for years to come so more people will be educated and have better understanding of what the Jews went thru.

I've been to holocaust museums in NYC, DC & other cities, and have to say that while this museum may not be the size of some of those other museums, they do a great job educating about the holocaust, history & experience. One display which struck me was a map showing where Jewish places of worship were attacked on Kristalnacht; I had never seen that kind of map which conveyed how truly widespread the antisemitism had been during that period (it looked as if every place of worship throughout Germany had been attacked). As a bonus they had an art gallery upstairs with an exhibit from a holocaust survivor.

They had everything you would need to take the time to reflect on our history and what was done in previous years. They kept the building clean and everyone I ran into was so nice.

Our visit took us back in time through the political and personal landscape of antisemitism and Nazi Germany. The artwork on the second floor (Samuel Bak and Judith Lieberman) was beautiful and powerful. We were moved by the experience.

It is an unexpected surprise to see such a well-designed and executed museum educating people about one of the worst events in modern human history. It is an eduactional experience coming here.

One enters this sacred place to gain an experience into the Holocaust that leaves you speechless. You must take your time reading each bit of information as well as looking deeply into the faces and images of each picture. Standing alongside the railcar is almost too much to bare but an experience to which you must open up your'self' in order to see into this portion of essential history which must never be left behind.
This sacred place is not to be missed by anyone.

Well documented small museum. First floor exhibits photos and history of this time. There is even one of the boxed cars that moved people to the camps. The other floors are mainly for art. Needs only about an hour. Free parking. Near good restaurants. Gift shop was closed.

This is a fantastic place to learn and remember the victims of the Holocaust. Very well organized exhibits. An actual death camp boxcar used to transport prisoners to their deaths was chilling. Nice Anne Frank exhibit, showing the layout of the warehouse used to hide a family from the Nazis. Well worth your time!
