About Kayaks River Rentals is one of the best kayak rental companies around. The staff is super attentive, the launch site is right across the street, and they are always willing to go out of their way to make customers feel comfortable and well supported, and their equipment is great. For either first time or experienced kayakers, About Kayaks takes really good care of their customers. Kayaking on the Sebastian River is a truly beautiful experience and everyone should do it whenever they visit this area. I could not recommend them more enthusiastically.

We just finished a great trip down the Saint Sebastian River on our kayaks! Their equipment is in great shape. The route took about 3 hours to complete...
Jennifer was excellent in helping us get to the drop off point and getting our
kayaks into the water and us into them. The river was absolutely fantastic!! We only saw a couple alligators and great herons on our cruise!

Quality equipment and information was so important to me and they have it there. I went alone so the peace and enjoyment was immense. I went in March 2019 so it was pretty hot out there, but I was able to go along under tree shade. I saw so many turtles, alligators, water fowl AND a manatee (my goal) that I was deliriously happy. I'm planning to visit again next week!

I rented a kayak and did the 3 hour float down the Sebastian River. I really enjoyed it!!! Jen at About Kayaks was very nice and a pleasure to work with. The drop off and pickup are very convenient. The boat and gear were all in great shape. This is a mellow float through some very pretty Florida foliage and wilderness. I also saw all the wildlife that you hope to see when visiting Florida.

The people here are friendly and helpful. We have kayaked many times but went along with some first timers - it was refreshing to see how others struggled to find out how to make the watercraft go in a straight line - remined us how we first endured the initial frsustrations of navigating with a kayak. It did not take that long before everyone was heading in the same direction. We just told them that was part of the learning experience everyone goes thru - just like the first time you rode a bicycle. The Sebastian River is extremely winding and has no navigational aides, so pay attention or you will find yourself paddling into a dead end and having to backtrack. Saw two small gators and one very large one that was actually swimming beside us heading east back to the boat ramp.

While escaping the Pennsylvania weather we came across About Kayaks in Sebastian Florida.The staff was not kidding when they said that we would see wildlife! We enjoyed the beautiful day down the River seeing blue herons, turtles, Gators, and hearing the wild hogs! It was a very serene and scenic route down the river on a beautiful day! The staff was very accommodating providing us with all we needed for our excursion!

The staff was very friendly and informative. My husband and I did the 3 hour kayak trip down the river. The beginning is pretty tight in places but then it opens up. Most of the trip was very quiet and immersed in nature. We saw lots of birds and turtles. We even saw a couple of big gators. We kayaked by them on the opposite side of the river and they did not bother us. At the end of the trip we saw two dolphins!

We where 5 skydivers on a wind holding on Skydive Sebastian who were recommended to try out Kayak River Rentals, and it was beyond our expectations. Really pretty scenery down the river, lots of wild life as birds, fishes who jumps in the water and Aligators lying in the sun. Really friendly and nice man who worked at the rental office.
Tip: Remember sunscreen, water and snacks in the kayak :)

About Kayaks River Rentals was an excellent kayaking experience. The kayaks are launched on the nearby St. Sebastian River and you set your own pace in paddling up stream or winding downstream through 4.5 miles of wide and narrow riverbeds. The scenery is beautiful and relaxing. We saw several gators, large turtles, and all sorts of birds including pelicans and hawks.
Chris and Steve were very helpful and courteous launching the kayaks and picking us up after the trip. No reservations were necessary.

My brother has done 2 excursions with About Kayaks and I finally took his advice and did it. There were 2 of us in single kayaks and it was a great experience. We were driven (by Dana?, who was lovely) upstream 10 minutes or so, she gave us a primer on what to do, sized our positions in the boats, put us in (I never touched the water, such service!) and gave us tips on where to go and what to look for. We saw alligators, bald eagles, a kingfisher, osprey, herons, turtles, and lots of jumping fish. It was easy, relaxing, and fun.

Is this family friendly? Interested for me, and my 7 year old... but a bit concerned about alligators being so close to the water.

Yes, we are family friendly! There is an occasional alligator, but with mutual respect and distance, they have never posed a problem. We could launch you from Dale Wimbow Park rather than up river if that would be more comfortable. Thanks for the inquiry!

Hello! The single kayaks are $37.50 plus tax and our tandem kayaks are $59.50 plus tax. If just one boat is rented, then there is an additional $10 charge for delivery/pickup. Just call 15 minutes before you get there and the boats will be ready for you.
