This store is incredible! They have such a broad selection of beyond fairly priced non fiction and fiction. They support childrens literacy programs across the city. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I got a Book of the Month hardback novel for $6. Amazing finds here, so thoroughly pleased. I walked away with a diverse range of reading material to last me quite a while. I loved it so much I even got a tee-shirt :)

This book store is fabulous! And for a good cause!

All the books are donated but look brand new. The sales support reading programs for children across Chicago. They also donate books to schools and classrooms in need of reading material for their students.

Books for sale include everything! Fiction, mystery, art, Chicago, children’s book at all levels, graphic novels and comic books. They also have several book clubs and community programs.

Prices are great! $6 for most books, children’s books are cheaper. New books are 10% off. Plus Half off sales and Sidewalk sales throughout the year.

Came across this shop while exploring the West Loop. It houses a large and varied selection of used books, laid out in an accessible way, pricing is attractive and as the profits support a literacy initiative, you dont have to feel guilty when you buy more than you need! Rare books selection particularly attractive.

Really nice, low-price, well-laid out bookstore. They have a good $5 section, friendly staff, and a broad collection. I could have wasted another hour in there.

I came across this while walking to the train station. It has a lot of good used books, both recently published and from a long time ago. The cool thing is that the proceeds from book sales goes to support literacy program in Chicago. I did not plan to buy any books while travelling, but I ended up coming home with two because most books are half of the cover price.

I came across Open Books by accident (got lost trying to find the L station). It's a really cute book store - lots of variety for adults and children. They donate to literacy programs.
