Friend and I stopped at this location while we were visiting the Eureka area for the day. The actual museum is a single but large room that houses several cabinets with various memorabilia from throughout Ronald Reagan’s lifetime. Most of the history spans between his time spent at Eureka College up through his time as a US President. An impressive amount of history and artifacts available to be seen, but my favorite aspect was how they tied in other people that had touched or were touched by Reagan’s life (e.g., his college coach, fellow football players, etc.).

They do accept donations to help maintain the museum, but both the museum and peace garden are free to view. We weren’t there for very long, but it took about 1.5 hours to view the museum and walk around the college campus a bit.

Took pictures of the items in this wonderful place to review and reflect upon. Mark Steinberg who was Reagan’s press secretary was visiting at the same time. He said he felt Reagan’s presence there. I did too.

As a former adjunct faculty member, I may be a little prejudiced. The Ronald Reagan Museum is a fine museum. It is small. Don't expect large exhibits. Eureka College has done a fine job of collecting items from the days when Reagan was a student there as well as from other sources, e.g., government, private, and family. There are several items there that remind one just how much of an American Everyman Ronald Reagan was.

Eureka College has the Reagan Museum and Reagan Peace Garden. For those who are interested in our 40th President, the Reagan Museum is a must see. This free museum contains over 2000 artifacts and documents highlighting Ronald Reagan’s accomplishments during his long life and covering his childhood, school life, Hollywood stardom, and political career.

The Ronald Reagan Museum and Peace Garden at the Liberal Arts College of Eureka is a proper tribute to the prominent historical figure who was a successful, strong and respected leader of the country.

The museum was totally empty on a Saturday afternoon, we just walked around admiring all the displays and photographs, including some beautiful portraits of both the President and Mrs Reagan. Couldn't watch the videos, though -- didn't seem to be working.

The historical museum is a very unique historical landmark of Eureka college. The Peace Garden has a statue of Ronald Reagan and a fascinating piece of the Berlin Wall.

The college campus is a very nice and pleasant place to visit, it presents itself as an architectural harmony of old and modern, showing proper respect for the past.

And The Bell looks like a meaningful and symbolic reminder of that.

If you like Ronald Reagan be sure to stop at this museum. Has lots of items especially from his college years at Eureka College. Has display for Nancy also. Several photos, letters, pictures. If you like to read the display items you can spend a couple hours easily here. Free to see (but they ask for a donation to help out). It is located on Eureka College and a distance to walk. That is the only downside.

We learned of this from talking with local people. It was about ten miles east of Peoria on Interstate 74 and then 7 miles North. When we entered the museum there was no one around. We wandered around the museum at our own pace and we were the only ones there. There is a timeline suspended from the ceiling with displays below of that era. I never knew that President Reagan was born in Illinois and attended Dixon high school. His nickname was Dutch. They even had his famous jellybean jar in a display. The jellybean maker invented blueberry jellybeans so they could have red, white, and blue. Nancy Reagans signature is unique. This is well worth going off the beaten path.

This is a new museum and well worth visiting. We learned a lot about Ronald Reagan. Everything was displayed in a timeline of his life. There was a place to donate money if you wanted to. Was very informative and enjoyable.

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Eureka College! The Ronald Reagan Museum was wonderful - I learned so much about Reagan's early life growing up in Illinois - also, wonderful artifacts from his entertainment career.
