An amazing collection displayed in an old church.Jim is passionate about his collection and so he should be.They are not all polished and tick tocking , too many to wind the key everyday.
This is the largest collection in NZ .
Every clock tells the time, but behind every clock they tell a story and Jim knows them all.
From a grandfather clock made of matches by an inmate at a prison.A 300 year old clock, clocks from Art Nouveau, Art Deco,French,Georgian and hand painted clock from Scotland.
You could spend a whole day listening about the story behind each one.
Jim also puts on a magical lighting display for Xmas from Dec.
At only a small charge of $4 it’s well worth a visit.
Drive up behind church and enquire at house for access to church

Took the liberty of phoning the collector, and asked if he would show us around. We have been viewing his Christmas light display every year, and always promised ourselves we would get back to him sometime to look at his clocks. What a treat, and what a collection, and so much history in one building. Do yourself a favor and support him, this collection deserves to be viewed and generously supported. Not worth a gold coin donation, but a paper one.

Two of us turned up and got a personalized tour of the museum by the enthusiastic clock collector. He was good at sensing our level of interest and the length was 'just right'. Visit back along memory lane re old clocks we had.

Two of us stopped in here on the way back from Palmerston North, heading back up to Napier. Although this place isn't very well sign posted, it is well worth stopping in. Entry price is cheap, and he gave us a slight discount because we couldn't stay overly long.

He is obviously very passionate about clocks, with a huge collection and he had just brought several more when we arrived. No doubt he has a story about every clock in the collection, and happily shared plenty of them when he showed us around. Would have loved to spent a little more time in here, the collection was amazing. Well worth stopping in and taking a look.

A whole bunch of us (approx 20) took a visit to Colyton Clocks. We were given an informative guided tournprior to being left alone to wander.
I was amazed at the collection. Well worth a look.

Bill has a passion for clocks and as well as Bill regularly buying them people (like myself) donate clocks so they have a good home. Bill bought an old building and had it transported to his property in the country. Every clock has a story and Bill shares these stories willingly. There is an amazing range - from the serious to the fun.

There is a lack of signage to get to this place but once you get there you will not regret it, as there is something for everyone and the owner will spare no lack of effort informing you about each piece if you ask and loves to show you around the massive collection
