Excellent single screen drive-in double feature. Bring a radio to tune in to the soundtrack as well as some chairs, if you want to spread out in your spot. Great times to be had here!

So fun and a unique experience since there aren't many drive in's left. It only cost $7. I love that they were showing a classic too. The only thing I wish they had done was have a public service announcement at the beginning reminding people of drive in etiquette. There were several cars that turned their lights on multiple times throughout the movie and a couple of cars right by me that left their car running the whole time. If I were to go again, I would watch from inside my car instead of sitting outside of my car so I had more control over my volume and wasn't distracted by running cars and a neighbor that kept playing their music really loud. But that's not Skyview's fault. Just a tip.

Visited with older daughter, since I wanted to share something fun and nostalgic with her. The drive-in costs five dollars per person (over 5 years old), so a cost effective evening for the family...although shows start after sundown, so the movie might be too late for the littler ones with earlier bedtimes. Weather was beautiful for the evening of our visit; warm with a gentle breeze and clear skies.
They have plenty of space to park your vehicle. Cars can park anywhere, but larger vehicles have to park further back in the lot, which is nice to avoid trucks sitting in front and blocking the view. They have a concession stand in the middle of the lot as well, where you can get various foods, treats, and drinks. Parking closer to the concession stand also allows you to have the film from their speakers if you don't have a working radio available.
Only difficulty that we encountered was that the movie playing that night wasn't the one that was originally advertised on their website. We were traveling, so I didn't have a chance to check for updates online. We didn't notice the change at front entrance either, so were a bit surprised when the kid's movie ended up being a R-rated action film.

they are open weekends. review your past memories. super cheap date. fun for kids. Have Grandma tell them "when I was a kid" stories

My family and I visited the Sky View Drive-In while taking a quick, last minute trip to Lake Lou Yaeger.
I haven't been to a drive-in since before Reagan got shot! So this was a GREAT treat for my wife and I, and our daughter's first drive-in experience!
We saw "Hotel Transylvania 3" and "Mama Mia 2", if that pins down the weekend we visited.
All my childhood memories of drive-ins past just came flooding back! Aside from window mounted speakers being replaced by an FM radio system, it was like the late 70's all over again for me!
Plus, the theater is pet friendly, so it was also our Rat Terrier's first drive-in experience, too!
We have a compact car, so we were able to pull up front row center. Best spot in the house!
Our car stereo speakers aren't the best, but with others in attendance in SUV's and minivans with their hatchbacks open and decent sound systems, plus the speakers on the snack bar, the sound was excellent!
The theater allowed us to bring our own food and snacks, so we were able to have a picnic dinner pre-show!
We set up our camp chairs and secured our dog to one of the old speaker poles, and enjoyed the double feature!
I think we will make specific trips next summer to see double features at the Sky View! So should you!!!

We are lucky to have a drive in so close to home. It's nice to be able to show another generation a bit of our past. We were lucky enough to go on a cool, slightly windy evening so we didn't have to worry about mosquitoes. The evening was perfect. The sound is good, the refreshment stand has great choices and is affordable. The line was a bit long but all of the women working there were pleasant and hard-working. There were just a lot of people there that night. I'll be back over and over. This is a fun experience!

The sign and premises are worth visiting to see a disappearing bit of Americana. We did not attend a movie there, though that would be a very nostalgic thing to do.

Stopped off in Litchfield Illinois on route to St Louis whilst driving Route 66. Litchfield is a small town off the main Interstate which has classic Route 66 diners and the last surviving movie drive-in located in the state of Illinois.
As it was mid-day all we could do is visit the lot and imagine the atmosphere on a bright, starlit night attending a film showing along with all the other movie goers.
The lot looked really clean and well kept, a gem from America's past.

It is great to watch a movie under the stars. I have been going here for over 40 years and plan to keep going. It is a great experience for those who have never been to a drive in

Going to the drive in on a starry, warm night is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. We went to see Jaws. The atmosphere is relaxing. People bring their own lawn chairs, go to the refreshment stand for popcorn, soda, cotton candy, candy bars and other treats and settle in for the start of the movie. Where else can you have so much fun for $5? The website will tell you what's coming up and when the movies start.
