This review is not of the bed and breakfast - it is of the service Creekside provides in partnership with Parker Run Vineyards as their provider of alcohol and bar service.
Overall we were remarkably dissatisfied with their services and offerings. Service was extremely slow during cocktail hour and upon attempting to discuss with the owner/ staff we were simply told they were serving as quickly as possible. We had conversations prior to the event in which Jennifer indicated that as soon as the staff saw a bus arriving they would begin pouring draft beers so that our guests could be immediately served. This did not happen and instead some guests waited 45 minutes in line for a drink - completely unacceptable.
Some additional points:
•Correspondence prior to the event was the majority of the time unprofessional as emails gave the perception that Jennifer was annoyed with our questions and did not really want to be bothered with serving us. Customer service needs to be improved.
•Overall prices are too high particularly for mixed drinks. I live in the Chicago area and your prices are higher than many of the wedding venues here.
•We had to ask several time for an invoice so the amount due could be paid prior to the event and then received said invoice the day before the due date. We again had to ask numerous times for confirmation that they had received final payment with no response for days. Based on other business practices I am sure they would have had no problem charging a late fee despite the fact that they were not prompt on providing necessary information. This is a definite sign of a deficient business person.
•Charging what they did for water on the tables was outrageous. Additionally, it would have been nice to have ice in the carafes when filled so that when guests actually consumed the water it was refreshing. We had a verbal conversation prior to the event and it was agreed that the staff would refill the carafes as the carafes were emptied - this did not happen and was very disappointing considering the cost. $360.00 to have available for our guests what any other venue would have provided without extra charge and then what was promised did not occur - this is also unacceptable.
•In spite of the fact that their customers per contract are forced to tip regardless of the service provided they felt it necessary to put a tip jar on the bars both inside and out - this is definitely in poor taste.
•It was obvious to our guests as I heard several comments that bartending wasn't something those serving us are accustomed to doing. Efficient trained staff is essential for your type of business to be successful.
•The final invoice indicated that our guests consumed 43 bottles of wine. I do not trust this to be factual and it is very unfortunate for us that we have no way to disprove the numbers.
Please reconsider if you are planning for an event at Parker Run Vineyards as you will have no choice in a vendor if you wish to have alcohol available for your guests.

Dear Mrs. Rocknowski,
We are saddened and surprised at your list of grievances with your experience with us; we strive for excellent customer service and are grateful and proud of the positive interactions and feedback we received from our customers over the years. Should you wish, we invite you to contact us directly to further discuss your concerns, but allow us to address a few of them.
We will continue to disagree about non permitted alcohol consumption with your guests, but you are right in that the outside alcohol violations and repercussions needed to be addressed with you even more directly that evening, more so than reminding guests on Friday of venue policy and requiring alcohol brought on site to be removed, and even beyond collecting over a garbage can full of drinks on Saturday guests were consuming on grounds and were asked to throw away upon entrance to the facility. Since your event, we have revised our protocols and communication with clients regarding policies and have had no incidents (even with buses and trolleys). Thank you for recommending the need to improve communication with our clients; we have done this- even before your lengthy review. Your deposit has been refunded, and we again are sorry for any frustrations we may have unknowingly caused.
In terms of your other concerns, we enjoyed working with you and serving your guests; our staff is trained and did serve your guests in a responsible, professional, and timely manner; our prices are competitive with other area venues; you were not charged for water but for glassware and carafe rental- you approved these costs in your contract; when you asked us to remove the tip jars, we did so immediately and without question; and rest assured, your guests enjoyed our wines and did indeed consume 43 bottles- you were not overcharged.
Again, we appreciate your feedback, wish you could have been happier with our services that were provided per contract, and we welcome the opportunity to discuss any further concerns with you in person, via phone, or email.

Visited the wine terrace with friends; got to try a variety of wines and the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We relaxed until closing time! Loved it.

Definitely worth a look! It was beautiful and we ended up buying a few bottles of wine that we had tried. I recommend going!

Creekside Vinyards and Inn is a treasure tucked away in the countryside. The owners are friendly and welcoming. Bev is great at remembering those who have visited before. The view from the covered porch is a good as the wine. It is a most relaxing and pleasant way to spend a summer Saturday or Sunday afternoon. The Inn looks wonderful, too. One of my favorite summer spots.

Take a beautiful afternoon, great wine, good music, and a wonderful outdoor setting and we could not have had a better experience at this hidden gem in the Quad Cities. We had a nice bottle of their red while sitting in the shade listening to the music (guitars and vocal) and taking in the scenery, surrounded by rolling hills of grape vines. You can even bring your own picnic food though they do have some snacks. We can't wait to go again, this is really a great way to spend an afternoon.

Both the Coal Valley and Preemption locations have gravel drives and parking lots; there is paved parking for motorcycles and handicap parking at the Inn and Terrace in Coal Valley. We look forward to your visit!
