Craig our tour guide was great. The Tour was amazing, very knowledgeable and answered just about every question I had in his presentation. Only had couple to ask at the end and he answered them as well.

We arrived here after a 9 hour trip only to find there were no more scheduled house tours for the day. When Craig learned how far we had come he graciously opened the gate and gave us a private tour of the home. He was interesting and well informed. If you are a fan of the movie it is worth your time to do the house tour.

It was off season but we went anyway and so glad we did. We practically had the place to ourselves. Craig, our tour guide, did such an excellent job and very informative! It is so fun walking the field and playing with the bats and balls. We highly recommend a tour of the house as so much information is given that you wouldn’t get otherwise.

If you are a fan of the movie, like we are, a tour of the home is a must! Our guide was really good, and provided a lot of information, not only about the movie, but also the house and field.

Craig was our tour guide. He said he's been doing tours since they started doing house tours in 2017 and it shows. Very knowledgeable and knew all of the history behind the property and then some. The tours are sold as 30 mins total, but ours was closer to an hour - probably depends on how booked they are for the day. It was very nice to feel like we weren't being rushed through it, and there was plenty of time for Q&A at the end. We were also given a couple commemorative FoD magnets upon our arrival, which was a nice, unexpected bonus. Taking pictures was allowed and encouraged.
The upstairs is closed off/reserved for AirBnB guests - not a huge deal, as most of the house scenes are on the main floor. The majority of the props used in the movie are gone, with the exception of the stove in the kitchen, but they've done their best to dress it up and arrange everything as it was in the movie. Lots of cool memorabilia, photos, and subtle references around the home.
Really don't have any complaints. It's obvious they put a lot of care and effort into preserving this wonderful piece of Iowan and film history. The house tour bookings are $20 per ticket direct from their website, but it's always free to just roam around the field outside ($20 donation encouraged - nice movie reference). They also have a small store with FoD merchandise and other various Baseballism-branded merchandise.

We had an absolutely wonder time. We did not do a tour. We stayed over night. The house very clean and comfortable, we had everything we needed and enjoyed sitting out on the porch swing and walking the property.

Our host, I believe his name was Craig, was extremely informative and friendly. I absolutely loved his reenactment of when Ray walks over to the window to see Shoeless Joe for the first time (My personal highlight). It was really subtle and very cool!! It was so subtle, I don't even think a lot of the other guests noticed it. I can't stress enough how awesome of a host he was . The house is incredibly cool and filled with memories of the movie. We also got to play on the field for about 10 minutes. The whole experience is something that I will never forget!

One of us grew up with this film, so this stop was a dream come true. We even enjoyed eating mediocre veggie burgers on the sidelines after walking around the field. It was super family friendly and there were a lot of groups tossing baseballs around.

The site is exactly as it was in the movie. It was fantastic to see parents and children tossing baseballs and hitting them and running the bases. Although the weather was windy and cold, everyone perked up upon "playing" baseball. The house tour was very informative, and Craig really knew all about the house and property. (The house tour was $20.00 and the site visit to the field didn't cost anything, but donations are accepted.) Currently they have added a professional baseball stadium just beyond the corn field (you couldn't see the stadium, just the lights). And we learned that they are building a new youth sports complex for both baseball and softball, beyond the 1st base cornfields. Really cool! But, again, the integrity of the original field is preserved and surrounded by corn fields. The entire area is an American baseball destination! The "All-Star Ballpark Heaven".

Yes, there are no steps & you should be able to pull up your vehicle close to the bldg entrance. The “store” is down the hill from where the house sits.
