We got great ideas to plan our visit to the area. It includes tours, details on Keeneland, ranks the restaurants , and can give information on farm tours, a must! Unique Farm tours was our preferred choice!

This was a nice suite in a nice modern building. There were lots of brochures and a self-guided walking tour was provided. However, it was suggested that we probably should book a bourbon tour or a horse farm tour, as there was not much downtown.
There were clean restrooms (though a code was needed) and a great farmer's market outside.

The lady there was very friendly. There are nice bathrooms and a few interesting things to see as well.

The cafe inside is delicious and the food is fresh! Very reasonable prices and a lunch will keep you full the rest of the day. Stop by the Thirsty Fox for either a slow sip or quick shot of bourbon. Check out the fantastic website for making your plans to see Lexington.

The visitor center is only open about three days a week, with limited hours, because of covid. So call to be sure they're open. The staff is informative about where to go and what to see.

Tried to visit this morning but the office which is situated in Old Courthouse and poorly signed was closed.
Apparently they have been closed for sometime, and no information at entrance on when they will be open---- bad news !!!
Was looking forward to a decent months stay in the city, but without info may cut it short.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and following the guidelines of our state, we did have to close our Visitors Center for a time. So sorry that you didn't find clear signage explaining what was going on. We have now reopened, but with curbside service only, and with limited hours of Monday through Friday from 10 to 2. This for the health and safety of our staff and our visitors. We regret that we were not able to provide in person service in June when you arrived. We can't wait till we can be fully open again!!

We had stopped here while in Lexington to get information on visiting some of the old homes. They were extremely helpful, gave us a map of the homes as well as the hours. They showed us to most popular ones and the order in which we could see them in one day. They were all very knowledgeable of the area.

This is a great place to stop to see Big Lex, smell bourbons from area distilleries, and pick up materials. We really recommend it.

Planning a ladies weekend trip this spring to central Lexington... looking for foodie tours, paint and sip class, boutique shopping, craft-specialty food stores, concert, etc. is there a listing of these type offerings online?

Check out the Beyond Grits Culinary Walking Tours. They will launch for the spring March 28th. The info is included on our website and the visitors center can also help with that information.
Agree with pinotspalette. Also, if you look at The Kentucky Castle's website, they sometimes have bourbon barrel head painting classes.
Wine + Market is a very neat wine & spirits shop that also serves lunch! I highly recommend going there.
Boutique shopping can be found near Woodland Drive as well as Clay Avenue. A lot of cute shops! Bella Rose is located off of Maxwell.

I would contact the Visitors Center directly. I'm sure this is not the first time this question has been asked. I would imaging they can give you the names of some very capable kennels in the area that would be delighted to entertain your canine companion for a small fee. Good luck and good traveling!

Do they sell tickets for a multiple house tour. I read that they may offer that kind of a ticket, that it was more reasonable than buying individual house tour tickets.

Hi. The Lexington Visitors Center is located at 401 West Main Street, Lexington, Kentucky 40507. They are open Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 5 pm. They'll be open Sunday afternoons as well, beginning in mid-April.
