It has been a dream of mine to visit and was sad to see it’s been sold and not open to the public.. so beautiful in the distance when you’re coming back from hook head.. I do hope the new owners will open it back to the public!!

From the road Lofus Hall looks as imposing as it does intruiging. I'd love to visit it, but it is padlocked and clearly closed. Online research reveal it has been closed and sold.

From the road, this looked absolutely intriguing and I am just sorry that it has now been sold and we were unable to visit. It truly looks spooky and the history sounds so interesting. I hope to be able to visit it on my next visit.

Really enjoyed our visit to Loftus Hall. Our guide was excellent and gives a great account of the history of the house. It's very eerie there and the fact that the house is in a dilapidated state adds to this atmosphere. Its such a pity that its closing to the public after Halloween. Glad we got to visit.
The gardens are lovely and the views around the house are fabulous.

The tour suffered a bit from the Covid restrictions but it's still really worth a visit. It might be closing so hopefully it will manage to stay open and maybe open some more rooms up. The guide was very enthusiastic and friendly. The gardens were closed the day we visited because of the very high winds which was a shame but that's Ireland.

We loved our visit to Loftus Hall. Not too scary for kids during daytime tour. Tour guide informative and funny. They plan on closing end of August but may open if they have enough enquiries re tours, so please contact them and keep Loftus Hall open! It's a gem worth seeing!

Where as I know Loftus Hall is closing , they are not going out on a bang , We were only on the ground level !
It was a talking tour of the history of the house !
Most interesting part was meeting the lovely gardener in the beautiful gardens !
Not surprising it is closing a lot more could be done with this amazing spot !

Billed as Ireland's most haunted house, the tour is a bit of a disappointment. What you get is some interesting historical coverage of the building but the ghosts etc remain very much in the background. It's a matter of expectations really. Yes, the house feels oddly cold at times, and it certainly has an interesting history and mythic past, but there's just not enough bite in this tour.

We visited Loftus Hall the 15th of August and had a great time. The tour was fab and our tour guide;a young man,was very entertaining and knowledgeable. It is certainly a special place and a haunting feeling when you go inside. We found it very interesting and loved the history of Loftus Hall.We recommend a visit here but hurry as it’s up for sale so only a limited time left to go on a tour!

My Wife and I visited Loftus Hall over the bank holiday weekend. We are glad to have gotten to visit before it closes. We have wanted to go for years. My wife has a love of horror and haunted houses. It would have been nice to see more to the house but the 45 minute tour we did have was good. Our guide Oliver was fantastic and presented the tour very, very well. I'm sure he gave a few people on the tour a wee jump scare! The tapestry room was very creepy and the drop in temperature as you enter is unsettling. The rocking chair in the room could be seen clearly moving while we were there. I am a believer in the paranormal but I know the rocking chair is an effect the can easily be rigged up to scare visitors. If it was rigged it was a nice touch to an already spooky room. Saying that I did not leave Loftus Hall without a lasting memory. In one of the first rooms on the tour my wife and I were stood in front of the marble fireplace which was covered in candles and had the picture of Nicholas Loftus I believe hanging over it. Due to social distancing regulations it was just my wife and I standing there and at least 2 metres apart from anyone else. While there I was tapped on the left shoulder twice. Believing it was my wife trying to get my attention I asked was she okay. She looked at me puzzled and told me she didn't touch me. I felt a bit uneasy for a few minutes after. My wife swears she didn't touch me and there was no one else close enough to be able to tap me on the shoulder. A few moments after my wife felt like someone was playing with her hair. I don't know how to explain it but its an experience I'll always remember.
I would recommend anyone who has an interest in the paranormal and haunted houses to visit Loftus Hall while you can.

I am a family member of the historical Loftus Hall family. Is the hall still available to visitors
Skrevet 17. september 2022
Yes, you should be able to take pictures. Keep in mind, they are selling the location and tours, times and guidelines maybe have changed. I would recommend checking their Instagram or Facebook.

Hi, I have a 10 year old and a 12 year old child and am wondering whether the over 12 Halloween tour would be suitable for both. The 10 year old is fairly fearless

I think itd be ok with halloween though youd need to check with staff. Its a bit of a rip off, run down rooms, dull bulbs. Wed heard the story before so for us it was a waste of money.

Anyone recommend a good place for food after doing the 4pm tour. Somewhere local to Loftus Hall or The Hook rather then in New Ross. Thanks

Hi, Would head into Duncannon. We ate in the pub there. The lovely people who run the ice cream shop on the strand give good tips on where to eat.

No idea how many square feet the hall is however it's about 20 rooms altogether I think. including upstarts.
You will only get show down stairs for your tour.
It's worth a visit.
The guys showing you around are very good.

Hi there! Has anyone heard the sound of jewellery box in Lady Anne's room? Wondering if it was just fake effect or real thing...

For the lockdown what do people normally do afterwards as I would think trying to get into your B and B at awkward hours wouldn't suit the B and B owners
Skrevet 28. juli 2017
Hi Kerry. I'm doing the lockdown in October and from reading some past reviews, a few people who went to the lockdown, stayed in Glendine B&B, after. I would check them out, as they have obviously accommodated late-comers in the past!
