This is a great place to hike, walk, or even mountain bike. We had a great time riding to the top and then viewing the surrounding region from there.

Decided to walk up the Ring Trail and while I’m glad we did it and accomplished this feat at our age, I wouldn’t do it again. There were tree roots sticking up on the trail and small and large rocks strewn as well and you have to be very careful with your footing so you don’t twist an ankle. There are a couple areas where the rocks are piled up pretty good and you have to pick your spot to place your foot. The trees are marked with white paint to follow the trail. As you get closer to the top there are a lot of switchbacks so you’re not climbing a steep hill. We ascended in 50 minutes. Nothing to see on the way up but woods, but the top of the mountain is the star. We walked down the auto road instead of the trail as we were pretty spent by the time we left. 15-20 minute walk down. No issue with ticks or mosquitoes in Sept. No charge and there is quite a bit of parking available on top.

Long-ago, former "Big A" ski area (some of its structures still visible), has this second life as a easy to moderate hiking area on & around the Mt. Agamenticus, with views of the Atlantic Ocean & beautiful forests. Oh, and a shy, red fox. Trails are either packed dirt, stone, root-covered, all-rockface & packed gravel. Mountain bikers love the challenge. There is a viewing tower on the top & the old ski lodge up there is now the visitor center while, at the bottom, there is a great nature center. There are bathrooms on both the top & the bottom. Parking is pretty good but get there early anyway.

Did the hike up the mountain following the rim trail. Easily done and when we got the top enjoyed a spectacular view towards the gorgeous Maine coast and the beautiful surrounding area. Shaded and well marked trails

A one-mile crushed stone trail provides universal access to the top of this 692’ monadnock with 360 degree views. A few bridges keep the path relatively level and benches provide resting points as well as spots to stop and enjoy the views. A ramp leads up to one of the viewing platforms with fantastic views of the White Mountains including Mount Washington.

The flashing light from Nubble Lighthouse on Cape Neddick and the sandy beaches of Ogunguit and Wells will catch your attention while staring out at the vast Atlantic. Signs in each cardinal direction point out different landmarks. Informative signage dots the trail.

Drive to the top and park for free. The two porta-potties are handicap accessible. Once a ski area, a few remnants remain as well as a memorial cairn to Algonquin leader St. Aspinquid. The former ski lodge is now the Learning Lodge and is open on weekends from May-October.

Numerous trails on Mount Agamenticus are available for hiking, biking, and snowshoeing. Some trails are even open for equestrians and ATV riders. Trail signs are easy to find and read with trails color coded and marked for specific use.

Mount Agamenticus is a hidden gem. Choose a clear sunny day to visit and soak in the spectacular views!!

The weather didn't work with us the one day we were in Ogunquit. Just a short 15 minute, easy (no switchbacks or ledges) drive from the city center (or you can hike it - there appeared to be various trails up if you have the time and inclination), I'm certain the views would have been awesome. Alas, it was extremely overcast, so we even had trouble seeing the ocean. Signage at each cardinal direction shows the various mountains and locations. Free parking on top. Would recommend for a clear day only.

I had not heard of this spot before but my daughter suggested it. Easy drive up the small mountain which affords sweeping views inland and to sea in 360 degree views. It’s also free!

Mount Battie in Camden offers sweeping views of the ocean, harbor and islands in comparison. Two very different views each worth it!

Decided to hike the Ring Trail which was marked quite well as were all the trails which some were intersecting to various points of interest. Trails are very well maintained and offer Easy, Moderate, and Strenuous hiking.

Clean, beautiful park with a million dollar view! Great place to take the kids for a hike and to see the sights. Cape Neddick, the Piscataqua River Bridge and the White Mountains in NH. All in perfect view on a clear day. Breathtaking!

We went to this spot over the Memorial Day weekend. It wasn't very crowded, but the weather was too foul to really walk the trails. However, it was nice to go from one side of the mountain to the other, and see the places we had already visited, like Nubble Light, etc. Sad that the visitor's center was closed to all but scouts, but I liked the circle in the center where the buildings you could see were highlighted. Sad there wasn't a bigger memorial to the Native American saint who is buried there. However, it was free, so that's a plus for some families.
