I've been going to Nantasket beach for years and never knew about this little museum and the history of saving sea mariners lives in Hull! We had a guided tour with a most pleasant and knowledgeable young man who clearly enjoyed what he was doing. His depth of knowledge and interest was infectious.

Whether you are local or exploring the area from out of town the Hull Lifesaving Museum is definitely worth a stop!

Great way to explore Hull’s history, an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon! Little kids could definitely come, but maybe best suited for teens.

Great little museum with amazingly personable tour guides. Didn’t go in with much expectation as my husband wanted to visit. Came out with a great deal of knowledge about the early life saving rescues and the origins of our current coast guard. Definitely a hidden gem!

This is a small, interesting museum. The guides do a great job of explaining the history of lifesaving and stories behind the many rescues -- and tragedies -- through the centuries.

In all the years that I've gone to Hull, I've never been to this museum. I found great respect for the people who risked their lives to save ship's personnel from many wrecks in the area, which there were many of with what would be primitive but innovative solutions. Displays were great. Very informative. They have a "play room" on the second floor to keep the kiddies busy which is nice. The ladder up to the "lookout" is not for the faint of heart. I & my brother opted out & even my 11 yr old granddaughter came down (backwards - the only way to do it) with some trepidation. Fantastic view of Boston Light from the front porch!

This place has a great collection of early lifesaving equipment as well as tributes yo one of the great lifesavers on the east coast.. Joshua James, for whom the US Coast Guard's newest vessel is named.

We had a great tour of this tiny museum by DJ and he was very knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this museum. If you have the chance - don't miss it.

This is a place where you will probably spend a lot of time taking photos because there is so much historical information here! But, without the very knowledgeable tour guide we had, we would have missed a lot of information. He was able to answer all my questions ... and I always ask a lot of questions!
I would suggest about an hour for the complete tour, with time for taking photos!

This is a tiny museum devoted to the history of marine lifesaving in Hull. At the time we visited, the focus of the museum was on tourism in New England, but we enjoyed the lifesaving artifacts and history much more. If you're nimble and brave, climb the very steep ladder up to the lookout. There's a nice view of the harbor islands, and Boston in the distance. It is a bit scary at the top of the ladder; it would be helpful to have a hand rail or pull at the top on the right side or on the wall in front. The two young men manning the museum were delightful and informative. As senior citizens, the $3.00 per person admission charge was worth it.
