My husband and I walked the trail here. It was relatively easy walk for us in our 70s.
Enjoy an afternoon in the Cormier Woods.

The Cormier Woods is a Trustees of Reservations property which features well maintained woodland trails. The area includes some interesting rock formations. The trails provide easy walking. Bring insect repellent. Worth a detour, but not a journey.

2 out of 3 trails are across the street from the parking area. Yellow trail (0.4 mi) is through a field, into the woods on the parking side. Red trail (1.7 mi) was a nice hike, with some terrain/elevation changes and a couple brooks at this time of year (saw at least one other area where one may get wet in other seasons). I found the intersection point for the Blue trail easily, but got turned around and wound up at the property border (with a convenient sign), though the trail looked like a loop, so I know I missed some of it. Really liked some of the glacial erratics and rock bluffs on the Red trail! well-shaded, a nice hike even on a hot day

Wow, some of the smoothest trails I've ever run on. Great place for a run or hike. I did 3 miles and visited the Jonathan White Homestead ruins via the Albee trail. Beautiful woods!

A lovely, quiet set of three short connected trails with just enough variety to keep you interested, but very few "attractions" to draw a crowd. Perfect for us.

My husband love to walk in Cormier Woods. It is also good for young kids. It is a beautiful area with much history. The trails are well marked, the length is about 3 miles, perfect for a quick walk in the woods. I live nearby so go there quite often. It is just right when time is limited yet I want to get a walk in. The area is very quiet. I rarely see others walkers. There are birds and lovely stone walls along the trail. Most of the trail is shaded so walking there in hot weather is something I like to do.

My partner and I visited Cormier Woods in October 2015.

We're 50-something outdoor enthusiasts who like to seek our unique hikes. After seeing the photo of Cormier Woods on-line (probably the same one shown on Trip Advisor), with the picturesque barn and old homestead, I was reminded of the Port Oneida Rural Historic District in Sleeping Bear Dunes, Michigan - with miles of hiking trails through picturesque abandoned farmsteads and barns. Based on this portrayal, we drove almost 90 minutes from our homebase to hike Cormier Woods and I must sadly admit, we were disappointed.

Although the Trustees keep the trails very nice and tidy and it was certainly a pretty walk through the woods, we found nothing out of the ordinary to inspire. Furthermore, when we came up on the backside of the "old homestead" and encountered the "No Trespassing - Private Property" signs and someone out back gardening, we realized that the old homestead is, in fact, a private residence. Somehow, we felt we had been misled. The "old homestead" is not as it is being portrayed by the Trustees in their PR materials describing the property.

A fine stop if you happen to be passing by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it.

The woods are beautiful & the walk was very peaceful. No crowds to tussle with but my youngest son was a little bored. Can't wait to see what it looks like in winter...

Cormier Woods is a great place to hike as a family or take the dogs for a walk. You may see wildlife.
