Such a lovely idea but they really need to make a session available for small children only. When taking my three year old last year he was so overwhelmed by all the bigger children running around and nearly knocking him over even with me in there with him holding his hand we had to leave after five minutes of being in the water.
Unfortunately it's used as a dump your kids whilst you sunbathe kind of place. Older kids are expected to watch younger siblings and there's no real supervision by most parents or any staff.
It's's a shame that younger children and even those with extra needs won't be able to enjoy a free and otherwise nice pool when it's quiet (which isn't a long time frame either)
Have asked Walmer paddling pool multiple times for a toddler morning session to be put in place but have been ignored every single time. It seems that keeping the majority happy means others miss out 🤷🏼♀️

Not so much a lido, as a very popular children's paddling pool, situated just yards from the sea and the pebble beach with its notable strong current. Which makes the usage of this facility a no -brainer as it is free ! Very short walk from the pier /town centre and ice creams.

very clean and free, which was a great bonu, as could easily charge fpr this. was able to park outside. Great for young children as very secure site. has changing rooms, toilet and cafe. Even during school holidays it was not crowded. able to take in inflatables

Beware! No-one and I mean no one watches the children. Currently here right now and children are running wild the parents nor lifeguards batting an eyelid. Only a matter of time before a child slips and cracks their head open to be blunt. Too many older children with silly water guns and water shooters deliberately squirting the little ones in the face. I really don’t know why you sell water blasters when all they do is cause chaos! Would recommend for 7+years but for toddlers and little children don’t bother. Such a shame as it’s a beautiful place and wonderful idea but there seems to be zero rules and has really spoilt our time here. Will come back with my toddler when the summers over and older children are in school. Shame.

We stopped off here on Saturday for our youngster to have a little paddle. Totally unprepared for this visit he had an excellent time and we subsequently left 2 hours later.
Although it was one of the hottest days of the year there was plenty of space for us to sit down and relax whilst all the kids were having a great time. Paddling pool was clean, grass area was clean and well maintained and staff on duty very polite. We will definitely visit again and we will be more organised by at least taking a towel with us.
Also this venue is FOC. Unbelievable. It's not very often you go somewhere and not charged an entrance fee.

they accommodate groups of children its enclosed and safe a real sun trap can get really warm in summer uv levels gets high be careful cream the kids up regularly. In good weather need to get there early as parking can be an issue but can usually find a space on Marine parade.

Nice Paddling area for young children located right on the sea front. Grassed area for adults to sit on, changing rooms and a refreshment bar (no alcohol).

Love it!! There are not many things you get to do for free but this place is, you can of course spend money on food and drinks(cash only) but you can always bring a picnic. Over the summer I have used this place about 10 times and have enjoyed every time and so has my 2 year old can’t wait for next summer to use it again.

Had a great morning here! Loads of fun! Really clean water, really relaxed atmosphere. Loads of kids and families having a really good time. We will be back!

Went into Deal for breakfast intending to go for paddle with grandaughter later in the day but the weather was cloudy and then it started raining. Had virtually given up on idea but on getting nearer to the site we heard lots of excited children. On inspection this actually turned out to be a school outing on the green next to the paddling pool. When we checked pool there was only one child and his parents. Temperature was not too bad and the quietness of pool was too good to miss. Once in the water the sun shone on us. Could not have been better! Water clean and surroundings great. Lifeguards on duty. Thought ourselves blessed to have had the pool to ourselves. Grandaughter loved it.

Hi just drove past the paddling pool and it was closed, is it getting refurbed as it had scaffolding over it?
Is the water chlorinated or saltwater here?
