Disappointed. Nice gingerbread houses display but not much else for a $15.00 admission. We thought it would be more like the Swedish Institute with exhibits and history and info about Norway. Took about 15 minutes to go through.

It is a great spot. I went here last August for a family reunion and it was great. There is a whole downstairs area with Norwegian food, history, and tons of cool things. In one room there was paper art made by famous artists including Hans Christian Andersen. It is right next to the Norwegian-speaking church and is a cool place to celebrate your Norwegian heritage.

We ordered tickets on line for our timed visit. We were the only people in the room and felt very safe. There were fewer gingerbread houses this year but still so creative and beautiful. A hot beverage and a gingerbread cookie are included with your admission. The gift shop is open but not the snack bar. All in all- a little different this year but we’ll worth the visit.

I didn't know this place exist, and it is on the newer side. In the time of covid they are still showing their exhibition on works of art inspired by the medieval Norwegian tapestry "Baldishol." Max did a great job introducing and explaining the works. I plan to return when I'm back in town for whatever exhibit they may have. Definitely recommend a visit.

I was here to see the annual Gingerbread Wonderland. Bakers of all ages from children to professional bakers have created some amazing buildings. The $5 admission fee is a bargain. The exhibit starts in November and runs a few days into January. Visitors can see an igloo, the stone arch bridge, two rockets, a gingerbread train, gingerbread violin, several commercial buildings and more standard gingerbread houses. The Norway House also has a coffee shop with a few pastries and one of the few places in the Twin Cities offering Minnesota mad Spring Grove soda. In addition to the gingerbread village, the Norway House hosts a number of other events throughout the year

I love Norway so had to check out the Norway House while in Minneapolis. The "museum" was literally one room with many bundt cake pans hung on the wall. Very disappointing, especially after paying $5. However, the gift shop was great! Lots of Norway souvenirs. They also, have a little cafe but I did not purchase anything their.

I visited the Norway House a month ago with my mom. We were in Minneapolis for the first time and we were in the neighborhood, so we decided to check it out. It's a small but well-kept and quaint venue which was featuring an interactive exhibit on the Sami people of Norway at the time of our visit. The exhibit was fascinating, with beautiful photos and audio accounts of the lives and experiences of the Sami people today (mainly their struggle to be recognized and to maintain their heritage as well as their fight against climate change). We visited the gift shop which had great souvenirs, most of which were imported from Norway or other Scandinavian countries. We topped off our tour with a delicious snack, a fresh-made waffle with creme fraiche and lingonberries. Delicious!

Structures by children to professional bakers. All were beautifully displayed. We attended with two grandchildren (ages 7 and 10). They were intrigued because of the scavenger hunt that was set up. They hunted for gingerbread trains, lighthouses, and even a lost mitten. Once they’d completed the scavenger hunt, which allowed for plenty of adult viewing, we gave them our cell phones and had them take pictures of their favorites. There’s also a small cafe and gift shop. The recipes are posted on their website, and anyone can enter the contest. Thoroughly enjoyable.
