When visiting Apethorpe Palace make time to visit the Church as it has the most magnificent monument of Sir Anthony and his wife and is the largest and most theatrical tomb in the country.

We visited the village and the church following a visit to Apethorpe Palace. The village is lovely and the church is well maintained and includes a truly magnificent monument to comemorate the Mildmay family.

Beautiful Church with a very friendly Congregation. The South chapel is particularly interesting with the very fine Mildmay Monument.
There is some ancient and interesting stained windows.

This church in the lovely village of Apethorpe stands at what was once the entrance to Apethorpe Palace, now privately owned, it holds what must be one of the tallest tomb monuments to a previous owners that exist, with other interesting monuments around it. The church is beautiful both inside and out and well worth a visit.

Although little more than a standard parish church, St Leonard's is worth visiting if you're in the area.
The building is beautiful, with the spire visible from afar, and the interior is equally picturesque.

St Leonard's Church is a beautiful and historic Anglican church. It has a understated exterior for a church that is next door to Apethorpe Palace, the seat of old English kings. With a working bell tower and beautiful grounds the church is well worth a visit. Take some time to go around the exterior as the view changes from each end of the church. Best seen when snow is on the ground! If you are about in East Northamptonshire, this place is worth some of your time.
