Me and my husband went we rented a kayak it turned over on us the water was high and we almost drowned there,the staff did not care we will never go back there again very bad experience

Amazing property that's very well maintained and so many fun things to do, set in a place of gorgeous natural beauty. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
But what struck me the most was how much management cares about customers. Extraordinary service at this place! Definitely coming back!!!

This place is absolute trash. It is 3 am and the same polka song has been playing on blast, concert level volume for two hours. First time here, we will never be back. Seriously, it's 3am... none of us can sleep. Go literally ANYWHERE else.

I stayed on the camp site on the electricity side, arrived on a Friday afternoon, campsite was normal looking until you have to go to the restrooms, the outside dirt was cleaner than the restrooms, they were smelly, tissue everywhere, if any at all, feces smeared on toilets, pissy floors, big dead bugs in the sinks, no sanitizer or soap, NASTY, NASTY NASTY. my area was right in front of the bathrooms, my excitement was watching people walk up or drive up to the bathrooms just to run right back out like I did, and for the whole weekend no staff tended to the bathrooms at all, these reviews saying the facility was well kept up....the had to have rented the cabins with bathrooms in them cause clearly their review would be same as mines. i'd rather use the bushes than those bathrooms! the rafting experience was ok, there was no stream or current so your doing all the work, i would go rafting again but stay at a local hotel with CLEAN bathrooms.

Absolutely disgusting! We staying in July of 2020. I understand that there is a pandemic going on, but the entire place was filthy! We had an electric tent site close to the main building and right across from the car wash showers. (Good thing we had quarters on us so we could shower before getting into our car to drive home!)
Our campsite was littered with trash. the trash bins are at each camp site and are COVERED in flies. I mean they actually swarmed my children when they tried to eat. hundreds of them! I don't think the trash bin was emptied at all during our two nights there. the "swimming" beach was jam packed full of boats, so being able to get in the water was difficult to near impossible.
The staff were incredibly rude. I understand that they are teenagers working a summer job, but wow. the driver that dropped us off at the beginning of our float was so mean my kids even noticed it. He seemed mad he had to be there.
The only enjoyable part of our stay was the actual float on the river, which this "resort" has nothing to do with. Word of wisdom, this "resort" is the FURTHEST away from the drop point and towards the end you will go through some VERY sketchy areas. not good for kids.
overall, we will never, ever come back to this place. I'm surprised we didn't catch an STD just from being there. incredibly nasty. 0/10 do NOT recommend.

Very nice trip down the Elk River in a 6 person raft. River was nice level, only had to pull a couple of times because we hit bottom. Rented through River Ranch with no hassles at all. Stayed at The Dam House - very unique house with the perfect location by the dam on the river. Highly recommend.

Horrifying. A huge fight broke out in the late night cove on Friday and staff handled it very poorly. There was a Very large guy shouting for people to wake up, and to come fight him, during quiet hours and was going threw everyone stuff while everyone was asleep! He even opened a tent while a girl was In there unclothed and started shouting about it!!! And the staff got into the girls faces that were saying the guy was going through their stuff.. not the guy who was going threw their stuff and caused the entire fight. the cops finally kicked him out about 2 and a half hours after he started the fight between everyone and then about 30 mins later, a car rolls through and they shout “I hope you know how to duck” talking about shooting the place up!!!! No one On the staff was patrolling during the night so they didn’t even know what was happening... There was no way to get ahold of the staff, we had to call 911 and it took forever for the cops to get there! We were so scared. It was a ton of people screaming at each other from 330-530 am... the bathrooms are shared male/female, so there is literally piss everywhere. The bathrooms don’t lock and the door is too far away to just hold it shut, and the toilet paper was gone by about 8pm Friday night.. we bought 2 pair of water shoes from their store and they both fell apart by the end of the day.. The river had no current, so you had to paddle. And there were spots that were too shallow and everyone had to get out and u had to drag the raft.. There was no “floating down the river” The river also had a ton of branches and turned over trees, it’s very dangerous if you are not watching what you are doing, so how does that go hand in hand with a bunch of drunk people? We watched several people flip because they didn’t know how to handle these trees.. there were no signs anywhere so you have no idea where you are, how far you’ve gone, or how far you have left to go. And now today, 1 day after floating, I am covered in rashes from the water. Just overall a very unsafe experience.

We stayed in #2 River Lodge Cabin for the weekend. The rooms and outside areas were okay, but there were some issues. I think the outside area was a little small for that many groups/people. One group would always get out their first and no one else could enjoy the fire pit or picnic tables.
I have never been to a place where they had such terrible water pressure. It was almost impossible to take a shower. The water wouldn’t make it down to your legs to wash off the soap.
We were scheduled for a 10 am float. We showed up at the pick up area at 950 and they started taking groups about 1015. There were so many groups, it took us until 11 am to actually get in a bus and leave. If you can’t handle that many people, don’t schedule that many people. I would have rather been told I had to wait until 1030 or 1100 than stand there with 6 kids waiting for a hour.
There are three spots labeled for parking for each cabin. There was someone parked in one of our spots and I went and told the person working in the store. She basically said she could tell her manager but they didn’t really care and were not going to do anything about it. I don’t understand why you would designate parking but not enforce it at all.
There were some good things. The store there is nice to have if you forgot anything. Having bags of ice available for purchase was convenient.
And do not waste your money on their “backrests.” They are an absolute joke.

The first few miles of the 8 mile float are scary. There are lots of trees in the water that are hard to avoid if you have more than one raft. The last mile is the slowest mile of your life with water barely moving. However, overall, the float is amazing. There are plenty of good beaches to pull over and hang out.

For 16 years the men of my family have made our annual pilgrimage to Noel Missouri, to float the Elk River, and camp at River Ranch. For us there is no question where we will go as the facilities and service are always top notch.

No fire pit, has a grill out side, You must provide you own linens, towels, and utensils. I believe the bed size is full and there is a bunk bed.
