I wanted to move here. Ended up getting stalked by men who run privatized security cameras. Stalked. Google search Jim Whyte and Central West End Iniative. Also the washington post article. Single men and women are stalked by the cameras here.

Definitely put the Central West End on your list of places to visit when you are in St. Louis. It’s such a lovely neighborhood.
It’s best explored on-foot, so find a parking space and start walking! Thankfully, finding a parking space isn’t that hard, even on a busy summer weekend, and a mobile parking app made paying the meter fee easy.
It’s worth exploring both the side of the neighborhood that’s south of Lindell and the side that’s north of Lindell. They both have their charms. Center your strolling on Euclid Avenue, but don’t hesitate to get off Euclid and head east and west.
South of Lindell, scroll around the massive complex that is Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the Washington University School of Medicine. And make sure to check-out the little commercial district nearby—it’s got some fantastic restaurants, especially Taste and Brasserie by Niche.
North of Lindell, be sure to explore the fun stores around Maryland and Euclid; they are mostly local, and there’s a great mix of stuff. Also be sure to keep heading North until you reach Left Bank Books, an awesome anchor of the neighborhood. There’s more great restaurants and such along the way.
And check out the beautiful homes. They are stunners!
Fun at all times of day, definitely worth your time when in St. Louis. Although not full of traditional tourist attractions, the Central West End is a great way to mix with locals, perhaps change your perspective of what St. Louis is, and enjoy a great neighborhood with beautiful architecture and local businesses.

This was such a nice area and fun to walk! We enjoyed the sights and stroll. So many good restaurants and a handful of stores to stop in - clothing mostly. Great place to sit outside with a cup of coffee or some grub!

St. Louis hosted the first Olympic Games in the U. S. Many beautiful homes built in 1904 exist today in the Central West End. The architecture of these homes is magnificent! While touring the neighborhood go to any of the restaurants in the area. There's a variety of good choices.

Forse il più bel quartiere di Saint Louis, tranquillo e molto bello, con case di lusso, ristoranti e negozi, poco lontano da Forest Park

The Central West End is a neighborhood in St. Louis that stretches from Midtown's western edge to Union Boulevard and bordering Forest Park. Euclid Avenue is the Main Street of the CWE, which the American Planning Association named "one of the top 10 neighborhoods" in the nation. It connects Maryland Plaza, McPherson Avenue and Washington Avenue with more than 125 shops, galleries, restaurants, bars, hotels and cultural institutions. It includes the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, which houses the largest collection of mosaics in the world. Notable people who once called CWE home include playwright Tennessee Williams, poet T.S. Eliot, writers William S. Burroughs, Kate Chopin and Sara Teasdale, sculptor George Julian Zolnay and businessmen Joseph Pulitzer, Dwight Davis and Albert Bond Lambert. Tourists usually visit the Basilica, the World Chess Hall of Fame, Chase Park Plaza Cinemas and the St. Louis Public Library Schlafly Branch before considering dining, shopping and nightlife options. If you're staying overnight, the Chase Park Plaza hotel is a good choice. Among the most popular shops and galleries are Link Auction Galleries, Left Bank Books, Fellenz Antiques, Vino Gallery, Provisions St. Louis, Duane Reed Gallery, AG Jeans and Atrium Gallery. Hungry? Try Drunken Fish, Bar Louie, Brennan's, Tenderloin Room, The Preston, Pi Pizzeria, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, Insomnia Cookies, Cocina Latina, Culpeppers, Dressel's Public House, MaryAnn's Tea Room or Kingside Diner.

Strong contender for most boring neighborhood in St. Louis. Yes it’s pretty. It’s also over-crowded and almost no parking during peak hours. Great place to pick up a parking ticket or dented bumper/fender. Take your grandparents to CWE to look at the old mansions. Take yourself to Soulard, Lafayette Square, Tower Grove, Midtown, the Grove, Forest Park, Shaw...
