Four of us hiked this trail mid-morning on Wednesday, 7/26, while staying in the Paradise Valley area. It was a beautiful morning; lower-60's and sunny. For anyone that hikes, this would be considered an easy trail to the lower fall, but for those who don't it would be a moderate. The trailhead had a post that a bear had been spotted the day before, but there were plenty of people on the trail (wouldn't call it crowded at all though) and no scat was seen on our hike; but still bring your bear spray. The trail travels through the woods and can be a bit rocky at times. As another reviewer mentioned, there is one point where you have to walk on rocks across about an 8'-10' wide stream, but it wasn't bad. It's about 40-45 minutes up to the lower fall. At the lower fall there's a little bridge across the stream where the trail continues on to the upper fall and out to the Pike Creek Lake. Be aware that the ~ 1/4 mile hike to the upper fall is pretty steep and a bit more strenuous than what you had to the lower fall, but it was definitely worth it in my opinion! Total hike to the upper fall and back was around 2 hours. Pretty good sized area for parking. Beautiful scenery and hike; highly recommend.

Hiked this early June. It was still a little muddy, but excellent trail. The waterfall at the end is beautiful. Go on the other side of the bridge passed the first falls, around a bend and you’ll see a second falls. Highly recommend. Saw lots of people on the trail with their dogs and many families. We took a snack and water and rested at the falls before hiking back. Takes about 2 hours.

The trail goes up a somewhat rocky trail to a waterfall and continues on. Generally pretty woods scenery with some stream views. Go early, gets crowded later.

Very beautiful. But, remember this trail enters a wilderness area. Bearspray is a must. Keeping aware is a must. This is a not a place to hike and plan a picnic. This is not a place to let your small children wander around out of reach. There are Grizzlies in the area. Read the information at the Kiosk. Stay safe.

The Pine Creek Trail is a moderate, scenic trail. Continue up to Pine Creek Lake which is a snow fed, gorgeous lake which feeds the waterfalls below, we took a brief swim in the water. It was exhilarating but VERY cold

Even the road up to the area is awesome!! The hike is great. The waterfall is great.
You drive a twisty road up to the trail head. On the day we went, there were couple volunteers set up at a desk to answer questions.
There were some areas on the hike that nearly made my 70 year old in-laws, and my 50 year old wife strongly consider turning back. They kept on and were rewarded with this stunning waterfall. It was fairly effortless for me and much easier than the 'easy' College M trail in Bozeman I hiked the day before.
There is one kinda "tricky" area where you have to cross some water going in and out. There are stones in place but you might could benefit from someone holding your hand for support so you don't slip. My in-laws did it so it isn't impossible. Sturdy hiking poles may be enough. I didn't need anything. It's about 8 feet across this little stream / pool.
We intended to make a quick in-and-out but ended up staying at the waterfall about an hour. There are a few places you can go off trail such as the area where the rock slide was, and what appears to be some glacial effectra.

This trail was about 25 minutes from where we were staying. Well worth the drive. Hike was a bit challenging and very rocky. Waterfall was a little over a mile from the trail head. There were other people on the trail but it wasn't terribly crowded.

Beautiful drive to & up to the falls. You’ll see some cows & long horns on the way up. The hike to the falls is a little more than an easy hike. I’d say more moderate. Upward incline on/off after the first few hundred feet. Starts out very easy. Very rocky once the inclines start so wear good walking or hiking shoes. I have knee issues and they took a beating 😆 but I wouldn’t have missed it. My only complaint is people just don’t get that people are there to see the falls and they just stand or whatever in front. I finally had to get the one lady’s attention so I could take it without her thonged behind in my photo. No sooner I took a few photos she put her shorts on and sat on the log in the middle to do arm exercises/yoga i include a photo. I didn’t mind her doggie in the photos though & actually got one with just him in it with the falls behind. Crossed Lots of well behaved sweet dogs on the trail too.

Nice trail outside of Livingston. Not too crowded (compared to trails in Colorado, at least). Partially shaded, gentle slope up towards a nice waterfall - took about an hour and a half. Trail continues, but we lacked time. Ample parking.

This was a very scenic trail that leads to waterfall. Amazingly beautiful and not too long. I enjoyed it so much!
