Great place for adults and kids who love kids. Experience a once-in-a-lifetime chance to interact with animals on a person message that no other zoo provides.

We got excited by the reviews and were looking forward to a visit but unfortunately the zoo has now closed its doors indefinitely. So sorry to have missed the opportunity!

I paid $120 for a VIP sloth visit for my 20 year olds birthday. We were informed upon arrival that the sloth was sick and might not make it. In hopes that we may get the chance to see it we stuck around and even spent some money to support the park. Even with the VIP tour of the indoor animals we never got time with any of the sloths. And every time we approached the handler she wouldn't take a minute to spend time with us. Not even on our VIP tour. There was no refund offered, or second visit. It was very disappointing.

We found out that they are under new leadership and have gotten rid of some animals because it was over crowded. All of the animals look well fed and happy which was very nice to see. We spent the extra money to have some time with the 1 year old sloth they have named Velcro. He is just a little snuggle monster who loves the attention and being held and pet. It was really a great time and the money goes to a good cause. Very happy we made the trip here.

Found out about this place via reddit. I checked out here and their website and found out about the Sloth meet and greet. SOLD.
From las vegas it took around an hour to drive to. It's a very small place, think of it more of a rescue centre/petting zoo vibe. We chose to get the carrots and apples for an extra $5 so we could feed the feeble animals- this is the kind of thing i love, but is perhaps aimed more towards children as its feeding donkeys/goats/llamas. Be careful, with them is a greedy lil emu that will steal from you and the peck can be a shock. He took an apple bit i was splitting between the many adoring heads of cuties awaiting their turn - emu's long neck gave him an advantage. CHOMP!
They have a lovely variety of animals, from what I recall I'd say most, if not all are rescued, though their larger armadillos had just had babies, so they will be born there. It's the first time i'd seen one, along with a Fennec fox (though rightly i've never seen them in zoos before, this poor fella was a rescue) and a toucan. The staff are incredibly informative and were clear as to whether you could touch the animals or not. Some of the animals have amazing relationships with the keeper it can be tempting to think they're tame - they aren't always, they just have a rapport, so listen closely and be calm and you may get to give a little stroke.
The sloth experience was out of this world, we had 30 mins of snuggling velcro, who was fed whilst he cuddled us to keep him content and well fussed. He seemed very relaxed having his cuddles, and was just a bit miffed that he was moved to another person when he had just gotten comfy. Looking into his eyes melted my stone cold centre. I'd happily spend a day giving him hugs.

My friend and I visited Roos N More in November 2016 and we had a great time. The facility is not overly large, therefore reservations are absolutely required in order to keep from overcrowding. The grounds are clean, attractive and well-maintained with a lot of trees and shade structures, and walking paths are paved and would be easy to navigate with a wheelchair. We were impressed by how many staff are on hand, and how informative and friendly they are. As you walk through the grounds, you may see a staff member walking an otter on a leash, or carrying an iguana or maybe an armadillo. Just stop them and ask as many questions as you'd like, and then you're welcome to touch that animal. The zoo is very hands-on, and many of the animals can be interacted with and/or fed with snacks that can be purchased from Roos N More (apple slices, carrots, etc.). In addition to the general admission, you can also opt for a "VIP Meet & Greet" with a certain animal for an additional charge. We chose the sloth, so we got 15 minutes to hold him, take lots of pictures, and feed him some snacks. I highly recommend that everyone in the area give this wonderful attraction a try - it is only about 45 minutes from Las Vegas. It's very kid-friendly, but is not a baby-type petting zoo by any stretch of the imagination, so adults will not be bored!. Allow two hours. A wonderful experience, and I intend to go back. Highly recommended!

Just have to echo all the positive reviews of this off-the-beaten-path attraction. Took our 3 grandchildren (ages 7, 10, and 13) and really enjoyed the 2-hour tour. While the private tours give you more interaction with the animals, we found that the lower priced general admission gave us plenty. As others have said, zoo staffers bring out animals all during the tour times and allow you to pet and handle them...always with an eye to the safety and comfort of the animals. Carrots and apples to feed the animals are a bit pricey, but the zoo relies on private funds. If you're strapped for money, you could probably bring your own. But just plain carrots and apple slices. Animal diets are sensitive.

We visited Roos-N-More on the last day of a recent vacation to the southwest. On a trip that included Vegas, a trip around the Grand Canyon into Arizona and Utah and back, Roos-N-More was one of our favorite experiences!
It is not a huge zoo by normal standards, and is probably better described as an exotic animal rescue sanctuary that allows visitors to view and interact with many of the animals. With limited visiting hours and little detail on their website, we weren't sure what to expect. They offered an otter interaction which was the main reason for our visit, but we were pleasantly surprised at the variety of animals that we found and how nice and knowledgeable the staff and volunteers were.
The zoo is about an hour north of Vegas and we went for the 1pm Saturday visiting time. It was November, so temperatures were very comfortable. While there is some shade, definitely take precautions during warmer months (sunscreen, water, etc.). The kangaroo interaction experience was well worth the money. You stand in the middle of a large sunny pen with a group of 10-15 people, so again, just be prepared in the hotter weather. They provided a bucket of food and brought over Leap and Kaboom who where very friendly and ate apples, carrots, and lettuce right from your hands.
The otter experience was amazing. Scheduled in 15 minute sessions, your group (there was three of us) is taken to an enclosure back behind one of the buildings where the caretaker sits with you and lets Snorkel, the otter, crawl all over you. This was a highlight of our visit and a dream come true for my wife!
The caretakers and volunteers are incredible and obviously passionate about their animals. Throughout your visit you'll find them bringing out various animals for closer viewing, many of which you can interact with including lizards (both small and large), a kookaburra, a toucan, an armadillo, a hedgehog, and more. They were genuinely excited to share and discuss their animals with the visitors.
There is a small gift area where they had very reasonably priced souvenirs including t-shirts, stuffed animals, and other items. It's a smaller operation, but the employees and volunteers, variety of animals, and the animal interactions really set this apart from more commercial operations. We were happy to donate to their efforts through tickets and souvenirs, and would eagerly volunteer if we lived closer. It's a great way to get a break from the hustle and bustle of Vegas for half a day and to support an awesome group of people doing amazing things with the animals they care for. We look forward to our next visit!

A group of us did the halloween event and it was super fun! You can tell the animals at this place get special attention from all the workers and they actually love people interacting with them. The other neat thing is that these animals aren't the typical animals you would see when you go to a city zoo. These animals are rescued from all over the world so its quite the assortment. All the workers are super nice and you can tell loooooooooove what they do and love the animals like their own. In fact, one girl was telling us she took care of the animal at home before he came to the zoo. WE all decided that night we were coming back for the private tour. This place is something you do not want to miss.

Love love love this place! I have been coming here for years. It is not a typical "zoo". You can touch and hold some of the animals and zookeepers or volunteers educate and answer your questions on the animals as well. It is fun and informative for animal lovers of all ages!

Are you still in business and if so, what are your hours?

Roos N' More closed several weeks ago and has no plan to reopen as a zoo. I believe they are still involved in rescuing animals, so it might be worthwhile to try to contact them. But they are no longer open as a public zoo.

We visited here in the past and enjoyed it here. Do you have any idea why it closed down, we were going to go again and were not told why it was closing.

A volunteer told me that this stemmed from an ADA compliance complaint from a guest that led to a county inspection, resulting in permitting and ADA compliance issues. For example, they were required to install ADA compliant bathrooms and sidewalks. The compliance issues with the animals included things such as installing double barriers for the exotic cats. They spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on the site, but ultimately they chose to close rather than ask for another extension.
This site restricts me from attaching a link in my response but if you search this story from the Review Journal on 12/8/16, it gives some more detail...
