It’s getting toward the end of summer. So one more time for summer corn, peaches 🍑 and tomatoes 🍅. Their produce and prices are excellent. Just get there early for the best selection. Don’t forget their wonderful bakery 🥯.

It was my dads 60th birthday and he’s not a cake fan. His favorite thing is blueberry pie. Me an my mom we’re on our way to Lovatis Italian grocery which has a good bakery. On the way we saw a sign for Battleview Orchards and decided to stop in. We took a look around and weren’t initially going to buy anything. The store was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We ended up seeing the pies while perusing the store and decided that they looked much better than what any grocery store pie would. We ended up buying the Blueberry crumb pie, which was absolutely incredible!!
I personally don’t like pies, and I hate blueberries so when I give this praise I don’t give it lightly. The crust was light and buttery, complimented by the delicious blueberry pie filling that was perfectly balanced and not overly sweet, and that crumb topping was so delectable!! This was what we in our family what we call a holy sh** pie!! We warmed it up in our oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes and lightly sprayed the top with coconut oil, after it was all warm we served it with some turkey hill vanilla ice cream on top. Omg it was the best dessert I’ve ever had and it brought such a big smile to my fathers face. Also it was only $20 which is a really good price for a pie of this caliber, I live in Manhattan and the French bakery down the street charges $38.99 and the blueberry I bought last year from them for my dads birthday wasn’t even close in comparison to this in terms of quality, taste, or price.

grew up going here. We always traveled from Brooklyn. I have since moved to Long Island, but for sentimental purposes my family still comes here. Before coming, I checked the website. When I googled the website, it said you close at 5. The website said 6. We got there right at 4 and just wanted to visit the pumpkin patch, so figured we had plenty of time either way. We loaded my two year old and my elderly parents (my dad is a stroke survivor and in a wheelchair) out of the car and went to the entrance. Immediately, a blonde woman in a beanie, maybe in her mid-50s, told me, with attitude “you can’t come in we’re closed.” I told her that’s not what their website says. She told me “yes it is I’ll show you!” And proceeds to pull up Facebook. When I check hours for a business, I google them and whatever is linked as their official website is what I check. I am sure 99% of you do the same. Their website states right up top they are open 9-6. When I told the woman this, she said “I’m not checking these are the hours.” Clearly she knew the website had inaccurate information. After I pulled it up and shows her she said to scroll down to a different area of the website. It stated that the orchard hours varied. That’s fine and all, but when the website says the hours right up top, any logical, intelligent person would come to the conclusion for a place that calls themselves “Battleview ORCHARDS.” Apparently, the hours at the top are for the store only. There were many others trying to get into the orchard who believed the hours at the top were for the orchard as well - it wasn’t just me. My two year old son was crying because all he wanted was a pumpkin. I asked the blond lady if I could go in and just take a picture of my son with a pumpkin, as we traveled 4 hours. She called a cop over and told me “now you’re trespassing”. I was at the entrance. I did not enter the orchard, let me make that clear. Why would you threaten me like that in front of my two year old son? How nasty of a person are you to do something like that? And how am I trespassing by being in the entrance of a business and talking to a worker? I would never expect someone to be that evil. She should not be working a customer facing position if she cannot learn how to speak with people and handle situations where the establishment is clearly in the wrong, especially when there is a child involved. I asked the woman for a manager and she screamed at me stating she was. I told her she needs to fix the website if she is the manager, and she told me that she doesn’t handle the website and to call the store and speak to their manager, so I did. The manager there said the store is separate from the orchard. So no one wanted to take responsibility. I even asked her for suggestions of things to do in the area so I can try and salvage the day, she just said “I don’t know.” The blond lady told me to “get out”. Very classy in a family place, and super nice in front of a 2 year old who just sat in a car for 4 hours and is crying because he can see the pumpkins but can’t go near them. I also want to point at, there were still MANY people actually picking pumpkins and it was a few minutes after 4 (and again, their website says 6). If she was the manager, and kind, she could’ve let us in for 2 minutes so my son could see the pumpkins I feel like this place is pulling a bait and switch so you show up and then have to spend your money in the store after driving hours because that’s all you can do. If you read through other reviews, you’ll see others were confused about the hours as well. When that many people are confused, maybe Battleview is in the wrong. I was have been coming here almost my whole life. Never again. I know of many others and have a large social media following who I will definitely share this with. It’s a shame this place employs such mean spirited people. We ended up going to the store down the road, Wemlock Farms, and they were absolutely lovely and kind and had absolutely amazing apple cider donuts.

Try to go here to do some strawberry picking w family.
Very rude and arrogant person in the front entrance of the farm.
I was trying to get money from my cousin that’s already inside because you have to pay $5/person to pick.
This guy yelled at me and said go to the side and I was accused of trying to sneak in.
Later did I learn he is one of the owners.
Being one of the owners he doesn’t have people skills.
Will not recommend to family and friends!
Bad customer service.
Please take your business somewhere else.

It seems, apple picking is super popular this year. After visiting few orchards, I must say that few things about the Battleview make it my favorite. By the middle of October, many orchards are all out of apples. Not this one! Plenty of apples, which seems to be too much for the tree branches; 2 separate parking/picking areas on the way to the store; variety at $1.69/ LB... Parking by the store is a challenge, but we found a spot someone just pulled out off on the side of the road and just walked to the store. You can get the usual country farm store stuff inside or stay on a fast moving line outside to get some hot donuts. Pair it up with some apple cider slushy and it turns a great day into a perfect one. The store is filled with baked goods and accepts credit cards, unlike the orchard, which is cash only. There's still time for late harvest this year, we'll be back!

Best fruits and baked goods!!! This was the first year we've decided to visit Battleview Orchards based on recommendations from our friends. We came for strawberries, sour cherries and recently for apples, donuts and baked goods. THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO GO!!!! Apple cider is amazing, donuts is to die for, especially when they hot. We bought several crumb cakes and there are SOOO DELICIOUS. Everyone who works there are so nice. Definitely will be coming every year!!

What a nice orchard! My family and I went on the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. It's never too early to go apple picking, as long as they have them! It was actually the perfect time to go because they had the apples (ginger gold, jonamac, gala, and honey crisp) and they also had late season peaches and nectarines.
We got there at around 10:30 and there were some people there picking already. Definitely go early because when we left around 11:30/12ish, it was starting to get more crowded. There is no entrance fee or parking fee, which was amazing and probably one of the only ones I found in the area that didn't have the extra fees. You just pay for what you pick and it's $1.69/lb, which was really cheap (cash only). They provide buckets but if you plan on picking a lot, I would recommend bringing a hand cart or wagon or something. Unfortunately, Hurricane Ida happened the week before so a lot of the apples were on the ground already but there were still plenty to pick. They say to call them after 4 pm the day before you want to go just to double check that everything hasn't been picked.
There's also a bakery down the road where you can get freshly made pastries like apple pie, apple cider donuts (although they didn't have apple cider yet), and lots of other things. They also sell fresh produce, fresh mozzarella, hot sauces, spices, basically all local products. That parking lot is a bit messy though because everyone wants to go there. But if you wait a few minutes, you'll get a spot since people don't spend long there.
We only wanted to do apple-picking and wanted to avoid the fall crowds, which is why we came so early in the season. But if you’re looking for the full fall experience, like hayrides, pumpkins, apple cider, October would probably be better for you.

Best apple cider doughnuts in NJ, and I've visited quite a few orchards! I love that you can get your doughnuts from a walk-up window (especially now with social distancing measures in place).
The country store offers everything you need from pies to farm fresh groceries to local products like honey, jam, and pickles. Wide selection of candy too!
Pro tip: Order lots of doughnuts, because you can't eat just one! Walk-up window is cash only; store accepts Visa & MasterCard.

We went for apple picking on a beautiful Saturday. The place was fairly crowded and there were too many people not wearing masks. Many of these people were there is groups and there was no way to avoid them when walking down the orchard lanes. What should have been a fun experience turned very stressful and we left with far fewer apples than I had hoped for.
