Have correct expectations and you will not be disappointed - it is set up like a museum. You walk inside different old-time buildings (bank, office, store, jail) and you look around and read plaques or other informative postings. There is nothing hands on for kids other than the gold mining. However, my family did enjoy it. Hence the 3 stars.
The shows would be fun if you could hear anything. The speaker sound was so bad that you could not understand what was being said. I saw a review form 2011 and 2013 complaining of the same so I guess they never fixed it. One of the shows was interactive where guests could participate in finding the robbers and putting them on trial. That was nice for kids.
It was definitely overpriced for what it delivered but there is no other place alike, so I guess you pay for the uniqueness. The rides (pony, train, stagecoach) and mini-golf were all extra charge. Rides were super short. You blink and you are back and have to step out.
Staff was nice. We did not eat inside as it was not inviting - dark and looked like a bar not a place to take kids for lunch. The pizza place was closed.

Wild West City is a theme park that opened in 1957 and hasn't changed much since. It's dated in its concept and in the condition of its facilities, but if you're nostalgic for a time when America celebrated the Old West, kids played Cowboys & Indians, people loved Westerns on TV and in the movies, you'll love it.
My kids were enchanted by all the old stores and saloons, even though they are kids of the 2020s and thus knew very little about the Old West and its legends.
Wild West City's entry ticket isn't inclusive -- you have to pay a separate fee for things like the stagecoach and the train. You are probably going to spend a decent amount of money here, although the parking is free at least and the restaurant's prices and the gift shop's prices are reasonable.
PS If you go, have your kids wear Western costumes. They'll enjoy WWC even more if they have a cowboy hat or bandana.

Came here on a Friday and got there when the park opened. There were only about 10 people there visiting throughout the entire day which is nice since you feel like you have the park to yourself and you get a more intimate performance during the shows. We were able to take pictures in all the little saloons and shops. The staff from the actors to the servers and bartenders were all very nice and accommodating. The bartender was friendly and gave us a history of the place as it has been around since the 50's. He recommended that we come back on the weekends as they have more things going on. They also do a haunted tour during the fall. Be sure to check to event calendar on the website.
The food and drink prices were great too, considering it's a theme park. Really delicious food which was very surprising. I will definitely be back on a weekend since some of the shops I wanted to check out were closed and are only open on weekends. A great place for all ages to enjoy.

A great place to step back in time for alot of fun. The cowboy shows and can can girls are excellent. There is so much to do. The food is great too.

This is our 4th time here. First was back 40 years ago and the Mrs. and I had a blast. Second was 10 years later with our kids. They loved it! Third was 2 years ago with the grand kids now our 4th time with the same grand kids. They begged us to go back! This is a great place to spend a day! A lot of kid participation that the kids enjoy. Some slapstick, some serious skits, all just a lot of fun. Al the actors work hard and be sure and applaud when they are done. Go with the right attitude and you will have a blast. We bring in enough food and drinks to feed an army, take over a picnic table and go back and forth between skits.

Boys aged 6 and 8 absolutely loved the experience. Participating in catching the “bad guys” was thrilling. They can’t wait to go back!!
The displays are authentic and interesting for adults and the animals were a great touch.

Our 30 middle school students had a terrific time here! The day was sunny and beautiful, and the staff were on top of the scenarios and action/adventures all through the day. The staff was very responsive to the audience and definitely played to the crowd. This was a day of open air theater with audience participation, costumed staff, plenty of hands on, interesting and historically accurate activities. The students enjoyed hunting for the bank robbers, panning for gold, being robbed by a bandit, riding the stagecoach and were impressed by the opening and closing ceremonies. Bring your picnic or purchase simple grill food at the Saloon! Very affordable day trip to a nicely run family business. Family friendly and highly recommended for a day away.

This is a portal to the beloved America of yore. This place is pure fun without any pretentiousness. We had the most laid back and joyful experience. The staff were all genuinely cordial and friendly. It seemed like they were actually living out the roles. It was a relief to be able to experience the grit and resilience that made this country great without being self conscious about feeling patriotic as we do in many places today.

can I bring my small dog with me to the park?

I'd say no unless it's a service animal. We were there last month and I think I only seen one. Besides the horses and the heat may not like your dog. We left ours at the hotel. You can also call them because they are very friendly.

there was a round up of "bad guys" but no dunking in a pond,
but they did had out souvenir badges to everyone to deputize them

yes you can. I was just there today with my family and a lot of people brought their picnics with them. cooler are permitted
