My family and I had been waiting for our trip to Monkey Town and we were not disappointed!!!! All we wanted was to be around little monkeys and that is what we got. We went early (9am) on a Tuesday - a little over a week ago- and had the place to ourselves! Our very informative AND entertaining guide Alan (Allen) was THE BEST! He explained all the need to know information and then we all got to be with the little monkeys. There is a separate fee- very affordable- for the monkey experience. It is WORTH IT! We had sweet little monkeys eating out of our hands. This is what we wanted and we got it!
We also were able to see many other monkeys and some apes. The animals are well taken care of and most importantly they are loved. Monkey Town is a happy sanctuary for monkeys to live and thrive.

Monkey town is one amazing place in the western cape. We had our team building with our own private pool and braai facilities and even a cash bar. I recommend this place if you really want to have a day of fun outside in the sun.

The animals are well cared for. Most are in a very large enclosure with many trees and shrubs to climb. The human visitors walk in an enclosed walkway through this area. All animals looked happy and healthy.
The center has three chimpanzees, we were lucky to see them at feeding time and observe the interaction with the guide who fed them.
Try to time your visit so you can get a guided tour at feeding time.
The kids really enjoyed the interaction in the spider monkey's cage (extra cost but well worth it).
If it's a hot day, it would be worth packing the swimming kit and going into the pools and down the slides.

What a lovely morning. As an animal lover I'm cautious with animal attractions, but heard from various trusted sources that Monkey Town does good work and decided to visit. My family, parents and I all enjoyed it, was good to see all the animals (not just monkeys) in good condition. The park is well maintained. We didn't use the water park, I wanted to check it out first, but will definitely be going in future. Will be visiting monkey town again and will also support their work through their backabuddy page. Didn't do the animal encounter, and not really think I ever will. You get enough 'close' interaction with the animals.

Overall, it was a nice experience. We got to see different types of monkeys and learnt how to differentiate a monkey from an ape, thanks to the instructor there! There was also a separate section where we saw various kinds of snakes, which was fascinating. There's also a parrot there, which can talk back to you depending on its mood.
However, you must be careful to avoid monkeys'excretions when they hang on top of their enclosure above your heads. Also, I feel the park was not entertaining enough: the aquatic activities were not operating at the time of our visit. It would be great if there was a restaurant or a cafe within the park for a quick bite. In addition, the items/souvenirs sold in the retail shop were quite expensive.

I visited here last week and was rushing to make it before they closed because I was in South Africa for a short period and wanted the experience! I arrived only an hour before closing and Allen kindly allowed me to tour! He was very knowledgeable about all of the animals, especially the snakes. He was happy to take pictures of me with the monkeys on my phone. One of the nicest people I met while in town, it was a great experience and I would love to do it again! Thanks Allen !

My 5 year old grandson and myself spent a wonderful afternoon at Monkey Town yesterday. We were lucky to get there for feeding times of the smaller monkeys and the chimpanzees. We had a really knowledgeable guide who was excellent with the children. We then went on to have an amazing personal interaction with small monkeys, where my grandson was able to feed and experience them at very close hand. From there we were taken to the snake park where he had a one on one experience with a small python after having a guided tour of the snake park. A very enjoyable and educational experience. The personal experiences do cost a bit extra but definitely worth it. The park is looking 100 times better than the last time that we went. It was just after they had reopened during COVID. So we’ll done guys, a great day

this place is absolutely filthy wouldn’t recommend it at all , my daughter and myself came home with tons of pimple bites on our body . will never ever be going to monkey town again . the pool water are extremely dirty and for the amount of money you pay definitely not worth it

We had a fun time in the gigantic pool as an al adult group. Grounds are kept very neat and tidy, very friendly and helpful staff. Just an awesome experience and you feel so in touch with nature. They also have a lot of activities for the kids, definitely going back for a visit with my family.

Can a place that has the most amazing snake assistant (uncle Robson) have such a disappointing end result? I was charged R135 for an hour for my child to swim while we waited for my other son to come from the snake park? I explained that it would just be for an hour and that we were regulars as my other son just comes for snakes. I looked on the page of the prices. This clearly hasn't been updated. Surely there should be room for negotiation especially when Muizenburg super tubes offer hourly rates and isn't run down. This place needs better management and hopefully this is in the 2022 plans.

Sorry, just seen this. The entrance fees above seem to cover it and the centre is just off the N2 outside of Somerset West, so a very quick drive.
