This is my 8th time visiting the Mine Shaft Tavern as they host the Annual CrawDaddy Blues Fest. This year was supposedly the 17th annual but a bit disappointing as it seems the food servers were skimping on food.
The cost for the ticket to enter went up from $25 to $30, I guess due to inflation, who knows. It would be nice if you got something with the $30 (e.g., two beers), but all you get is a ticket.
The drinks are above average, and the bar tenders do an excellent job in serving. The cost isn’t too pricey maybe a little more than average, but it is expected. Now comes the food, extremely pricey and not well proportioned at all. My wife and I ordered 1 # crawdads, coconut shrimp , crab cake, and a hot link. The crawdads were perfect and the spice was excellent, the hot link and crab cake was a little over cooked but delicious. The coconut shrimp were delicious, but was a little short on shrimp. For $25 we got four (4) coconut shrimp, mango salsa and a very small portion of quinoa salad. You would think you’d get 6-8 shrimp for the price.
Our friends that were with us ordered the brisket sandwich, coconut shrimp, 1/2 # brisket, fried hatch chili’s and fried okra. My buddy got his order and looked and seen only got three (3) shrimp so he stated to the server hey my friend just got coconut shrimp and he got four (4) shrimp the server said you get what you get, such a bad attitude!!
The music as always was assume and the vibe was great. Just somewhat disappointed on portion sizes, poor attitudes. I understand it costs to bring the crawdads here to New Mexico, but the coconut shrimp came from a bag. Really makes me think is this event truly worth the cost.
My cost yesterday:
$60 entrance fee
$80 with drinks (including tip)
$75 food (not including tip)

I enjoy The Mineshaft when Carissa is working. She really helps tourists and locals enjoy their visit by bringing a good attitude, service, style, music, great drinks, and Movie Night Monday.

I started with a Blood Orange Cider made out of Austin and it was delicious. Not too sweet. Then I went with the Mad Chile Burger with Batter fried hatch chile, chipotle dijon, toasted brioche bun. I asked for the Green Chile’s on the side. The burger was huge and cooked to order. A little heat from the fried chili, but absolutely delicious. There was also live music on the patio at 2 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Wish I’d had more time for a few more ciders and to enjoy the music longer!

Honestly, the best green chili cheeseburger I have ever had! I believe it is called the Madchili burger, it is outstanding, it is 1/2 pound so a friend and I split it, yum! yum! yum! and the french fries ware awesome!

Fun in the old west. Saloon/dance hall setting. Indoor seating is dark and cool, great for a hot sunny day. Menu has a good selection. Went for the safe bet and ordered a Burger which was wonderful. Scouted out what everyone else was eating and it all looked good. Walking around town is a great way to work up an appetite.

Tina the bartender was extremely awesome. She was very fun and outgoing. Sang happy birthday to a customer and is just very out going. I love coming to this bar when Tina works. Yay Tina🤗🤗🙃🙃

We enjoyed the Steak and Enchilada dinner at the Mineshaft along with great margaritas while listening to live music. Highly recommend this experience.
