We originally planned to meet family at Howe's but it booked up before we confirmed plans. We stumbled across this place online and I'm so glad we did! Other reviews/articles said their tour guides very knowledgeable and not scripted. Ours was a high schooler who had only worked there two months. She was completely scripted, but everyone appreciated her corny jokes. :)
My 8yo wanted to help write the review: "It is perfect for middle aged kids and there's a lot of cool things inside of the cave. It's a perfect experience for family or friend, and everyone!"
We're all so happy with this experience and would recommend!

A Wonderful mix of geological beauty, education and Americana! This is more rustic than Howes cavern, and sturdy shoes and sweatshirt recommended

Wonderful experience and you can even touch formations! 103 stairs down with handrails (wear gloves to aid in grip and keep hands warm!) The 100’ waterfall at the end is the final gem! Great tour with humor and knowledge. Not for the claustrophobic!

Having been to Howe Caverns before, we were drawn here by the underground waterfall and the promise of a less commercial experience. We entered the lodge and paid for our admission $60 for family of four. We were prompted to enter as a tour was already beginning. The tour guide had already started but that didn't matter because there were so many people in that group we couldn't hear anything clearly or see what he was talking about. We just stood single file in a narrow cavern until everyone started moving again at a fast pace. There were times it felt like we almost had to run to catch up. We heard none of the tour guide because they allowed the group to get so large.
After reaching the waterfall everyone was clamoring to get their pictures by the waterfall and it is chaotic. Afterwards we are told to make our way back up.... no rush as long as we are back up before the next horde needs to come down. Guide followed behind turning off lights. Overall it felt like a rushed experience with little to no information since we could not hear the guide 20 people ahead of us.
The lodge and gift shop were worn down, creepy and selling all sorts of items not from the area or having anything to do with the caves. Lots of acrylic encased small animal skeletons, kids candy and bulk polished rocks that can be found in any gift shop from an amusement park to campgrounds. This whole set up felt like a conveyor belt designed to funnel cash straight into the owners pockets.

This cave is a must see for nature lovers 😍 absolutely amazing feeling to walk in the serenity of this cave. Love the creatures and waterfalls is beyond expectations. Love every moment of if. I took few videos and lots of pictures since no restrictions of taking pictures but theres nothing better to be there and experience the sounds of natures beauty and seeing the fountain of youth and these caves stuffs. You must wear a sturdy shoes because of walking down the 103 foot and needs sweater. If you can bring extra watershoes is absolutely a plus for Instagram pictures for waterfalls photoshoots. And our tour guide is really a cool guy give extra tips on the wishing well if you can!

This was more man made and less commercialized Awesome waterfall. Great time short walk but absolutely a definite secret. So much better

We toured two cave systems while in the area and our family enjoyed this tour WAY more than howe caverns. If you're physically able to make the hike down and up the stairs and want to see a cave that actually still looks like a cave, where you're actually allowed to interact with the cave then this is the place to go. Our tour guide said touch whatever you want down here which at Howe Caverns is a no go, there you have one touchable rock/hand rails/brick walkway/and different colored lights adding a not so natural effect. This cave is a cave, there is tight spots, low spots, and wet floors. The waterfall is absolutely ridiculous and our guide even let us go into the water barefoot to check it out closer.

We were a 40yr old athletic male, 30yr old mom with a little extra weight, 10 year old boy who's fit, and my boyfriends father who is like 67 ish and in decent shape.

We were there for the first tour of the day on a Thursday during Easter break. We ended up being the only group on the tour (5 in our family). Tour guide was personable and informative. Really enjoyed it. Not a big cave, so be prepared to duck at a few points, and wear good footwear as it is wet. The walkway is narrow, so probably not good for claustrophobic people. Price was reasonable, and gift shop items are priced well too. It is cash only, so just be prepared. Definitely recommend :)

I've been driving past the signs for decades and we finally took the tour with my wife and kids (5 & 6) on 2021 July 4th weekend. On the phone they were upfront about the fact that they weren't capping the tour size that day. I'd guess about 30 people were in our group and since we were towards the back and the entire experience is mostly single-file, we heard nothing the tour guide said. Shuffling single file down the damp stairs didn't seem promising, but once you reach the bottom, you stroll along a paved, well-lit path (watch your head in spots). Without the guide's explanations there are still signs and the waterfall is cool (but not breathtaking). We waited a while to take photos with the waterfall and enjoyed the leisurely less crowded walk back out. We haven't done Howe Caverns yet so we can't compare, but this was fun. Kids had a blast and it was about the right length for them (watch them on the stairs). I could imagine returning on a rainy day. Next time we'll make sure to be close to the front of the tour so we can hear the guide.

OurTour Guide did a great job of explaining the caverns and made it fun. He had a sense of humor and was passionate about what he was talking about. He was interested in making sure you learned something from the tour. The tour began with an interesting story of how it was discovered. When walking through the caverns, it was fascinating to learn that these caves have been here for hundreds of thousands of years. A world before our world. The Waterfall was a terrific way to end the tour. This is a trip everyone should take. We know about our external environment, we should all learn about our internal environment.

Yes. Is secret caverns and Howe caverns difficult for seniors to navigate. Also will be traveling with children age 9 yrs. we hear there are some narrow areas - how narrow is narrow. Some of us are fuller figured than others. Looking forward to going but don’t want any surprises. Thanks for responding

Yes there are some very narrow passage in the tunnel....for old people I would not recommend that....but for 9 years old there is no problem....also those narrow passages are ok to cross if you can walk normally. I do not have any problem as when I went there I saw a lot of Fuller figured person crossing easily....hope this helps...njoy your trip.... 😊
