We were introduced to Bright Leaf Vineyards wine recently and LOVE it! They have wonderful whites and reds! Located in a beautiful King Ferry area with an outstanding view of Cayuga Lake, it is a must to visit! You can buy wine - sit at an outdoor or indoor location - outdoors has Adirondack chairs - tables/chairs/lawn seating - it's wonderful! The owners, Mike and Donna, take the time to meet guests and are genuine and down-to-earth. They make everyone feel welcome. We have returned a few times since our original visit and have been consistently greeted by friendly staff (Hi Faith and crew!) and make every visit special. Their pop-up dinners are fabulous! This is truly a gem!!!! We especially enjoy the reisling and their lemberger red!
The parking lot is ample - for anyone with a mobility issue/disability, it is easy to navigate with no stairs necessary.

Nice views of the lake. Service was great. Very comfortable outside inside is very pretty although we weren’t in there. No sweet wine but what I tasted was good. We had a cloudy day but still sat outside. Would be even better on a sunny day. Prices are all great

Visited here as 1 of 16 wineries on our annual road trip to the Finger Lakes. When we arrived with our paid reservation, a woman rudely greeted us. She was quite gruff and definitely not welcoming. I was sorry I had prepaid with an additional fee or I would have turned around and left. Although we sat outside with a gorgeous view of Cayuga Lake, I did not enjoy this wine tasting. No info was given. I was given 4 tastings (most other wineries give 5-8) and no water was offered. I tried the merlot, pinot noir, cab sauvignon, and reserve blend. They were not to my liking: not full bodied. We watched our server/greeter take at least a 20 minute walk with a dog while we were tasting. We left while she was dog walking. I will not return.

The view is outstanding. We enjoyed tasting flights accompanied by charcuterie and excellent pizza. A relaxed, inviting vibe.

We had a wonderful time and have visited twice in two weeks to experience both the red and white wine pairings with chocolate. We loved the view (not all Finger Lakes wineries have lake views), the seating possibilities, the wine AND the chocolate. The staff were all very friendly and helped add to an enjoyable afternoon out. We will definitely return to try out the cheese platter and the pizza. Now that we've tasted most of the wines on offer, we now have our favorites! Also, Rosie is the best.

The wines are of good quality and the pairings with the chocolates was interesting and fun. The setting is lovely and the staff is very nice and friendly. Definitely an excellent way to spend part of an afternoon.

Incredibly rude owner. As a student of viticulture and enology, I have had the privilege of tasting many of the areas best wines - and it pains me to write this considering how I had once enjoyed Bright Leaf’s wine (purchased from the store, of course).
Admittedly, I came with a group of other senior students, on a Saturday, and without a reservation. We were polite and respectful; we also would have left without issue had we been asked. Despite this, we were not turned away; instead, the owner herself chose to seat and serve our group - making inflammatory and degrading comments throughout.
She began by demanding two forms of ID - to which we all obliged without hesitation. As she filtered through our licenses she stopped at mine, exclaiming that the picture (taken 7 years ago) was not of me. I referenced my more recently issued military ID and mentioned that I had gained a bit of weight since high school. She then rolled her eyes and said with disgust “No one gains weight like that.” She later obliged only after I showed her every shred of plastic I had with my name on it.
Shortly thereafter, we were reminded - for the first of many times - that she reserved the right to refuse service; each time we’d ask “should we leave?” to which she would respond “no, we’ve just had bad experiences with your kind in the past, we don’t enjoy having people like you” (read: young and ethnically diverse).
Overall, an absolutely horrible experience from an absolutely horrible person. We left after one glass apiece (she refused to let us purchase tastings or bottles - even making us pay for five glasses of the same wine, while other parties were encouraged to purchase bottles at a fraction of the price).
We were incredibly fortunate to find a much more hospitable winery just a few minutes North of Bright Leaf; there, the owners (and their wonderful dogs) welcomed us with open arms and invited us back, citing our fabulous behavior.
Before considering coming here, read the reviews that mention the owner (Donna). She is known among the area’s vintners and patrons to be snooty, condescending, and prejudiced against those who aren’t well-off, middle aged, and white. I highly recommend taking in the equally stunning views and delicious wines at any of the more customer-focused wineries in the area.

I don’t usually review ... but the owner was incredibly inconsiderate and rude when we came and politely asked for seating. Come here at your own risk if you want your wine spit in!!! They blamed us for the actions of the the previous clients and aggressively kicked us out! Thanks Bright Leaf Vineyard for ruining my day!

A great winery. A lot of fun and just wonderful people. They winery is beautiful and the wine is damn tasty and a good value. The chips and salsa are great and the wine cocktails are amazing. A great place anytime of year!!

Great setup for contactless, online payment and reservation for the "Design your Flight"wine tasting at Bright Leaf Vineyard. Shannon (our server) was super sweet and this was our most enjoyable wine tasting experience yet with Bright Leaf choosing a unique way to implement the Covid-19 guidelines. Delicious add-on mini-hand pies from "Mama Said". Loved the potted Grapevine planters aroulovely winery. winery.
