Kayaking the Nile while taking lessons to improve my technical skills has been one of the best outdoors experiences of my life.
I took a three-day couse with Moussa, my teacher and guide at KTN. We first reviewed the bases of whitewater kayaking, which I had gotten over a few outings ion the Rivière Rouge in Québec. By the afternoon of the first day, we were already doing a run along class 2 and 3 rapids. The next day, we did some educational exercises on Eskimo rolls, followed by the same run--but by then, I was already more confident and better balanced. Wr devoted the third morning to practicing more Eskimo rolls (in a pool, this time), as it was one of my main objectives. During the afternoon, we played in a class 3 & 4 rapid with many channels and eddies. This was *great*.
Moussa was very supportive, the exercises he gave and his recommendations in the rapids were to the point and well adapted to my specific needs. He was also very patient when the time came to empty my kayak after a flip...
And if you are an advanced kayakist, fear not: he is a pro in the waves who will certainly help you master new tricks.

We booked two of Kayak the Nile's trips-- the flat water/ bird watching trip and the class 1-3 rapids trip. Dan was our guide both days and he was wonderful. I'm older and fairly safety-conscious, so I was a bit nervous about the class 3 rapids when I booked it. But the rapids were actually no big deal, even when we flipped. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a little adventure. They will make it as mild or wild as you want.

We chose the full day white water experience. As a beginner, I felt very comfortable and well accompanied. The guide is awesome and the rapids very impressive!

What an unforgettable tandem kayak trip with KTN! My guide, Piggy, was professional yet very fun and entertaining. At each rapid he asked how I wanted to go: crazy, medium, or easy, and made sure to follow through with my decision, me going crazy and having a blast! The crew was very professional and the safety standards were top notch. The food and celebratory cold drinks were perfect!

Nice whitewater introduction day!
Improved our paddeling, turning and half-flipping techniques a lot with David and Emma in the morning.
Lot of fun in the afternoon in the rapids! :D
Definetively worth the money.
Staff was very friendly! They even sent forgotten clothes by boda to Jinja the next day. Thank you! :)

We had s great experience on the Nile accompanied by kind, entertaining and highly skillful and professional Dan. His knowledge and education on flora and fauna made the trip a memorable experience. It was fun, safe and exciting. The company provides as many drinks as requested included in the price. Highly recommended. Ask for Dan.

Awesome experience at the Source of the Nile! We had a group of 4 adults kayaking at the source with Abraham. He was very knowledgeable about kayaking and the area. One adult had never been in a kayak before and had a fear of water and Abraham got him through it and he had a great water experience!! We started off in Lake Victoria and paddled around for a bit. Abraham opened a cooler with Nile beer and sodas which we enjoyed before continuing on to the Nile. We definitely felt the change when the lake met the Nile, the water was swirling and gurgling. It was so cool! Highly recommend this experience with Abraham.

We did a one day introduction to kayaking and loved it. Our guide, David, was very patient but also very thorough with his instruction. Highly recommended day and we will be back for more!

Don't think twice : book a trip with Kayak the Nile ! What a wonderful day Tandem Kayaking with the best team in Uganda ! Peter, Koa, Dan and Emma are the safest, most professional, and most fun instructors we could have hoped for. We were in good hands from start to finish, These guys were real pros. Kayaking down the Nile was a lot of fun, and being in a Tandem made it not too tiring. Honestly, they do most of the work ;)
One of my top 3 activities during my whole stay in Uganda. Support this wonderful organization and GO KAYAK THE NILE !

I had a great time with Kayak the Nile in April 2022, with David providing patient one-on-one playboat coaching. The new management team were superhelpful, with Chris active in the email communication, helping to plan my time with KTN and Joel sorting out my logistics whilst I was with them.

Hi there,
Great! It's $115 per person at the standard rate or $140 for one-to-one tuition. If you're booking as an individual we can aim to team you up with a group where possible if you'd prefer to not go solo.
This day includes:
- Expert coaching and guiding
- All necessary safety and kayaking equipment
- A packed lunch (we can cater for many dietary requirements)
- Transport to and from the river from our base at Bujagali
- Cold drinks and water
- Access to the Nile River Explorers complimentary Jinja-Kampala shuttle (subject to availability)
A wetsuit is not necessary as the water is so warm. We suggest bringing something to wear that you don't mind getting wet in (i.e. t-shirt, shorts, swimming costume) and some dry clothes for the end of day.

Hi Tom,
There are a number of options available that currently range in price from $15USD through to $140USD. You can chose from flat water SUP or kayak rentals for just an hour or take a two hour guided tour on the Bujagali Lake. There's also full day adventures such as grade 5 tandem kayaking or our 'Introduction to White Water Kayaking' course, and much more.
