This quirky collection of guitar memorabilia is a must for guitar enthusiasts. The small house on New Hyde Park's main thoroughfare houses a guitar repair shop and because its owner has spend years in the business and has repaired the guitars for the famous and not-so-famous alike, he has had the opportunity to gather quite a few interesting pieces. The collection is just one small room, so you won't need to spend long here, and it's super crowded. The owner takes time with each visitor describing different items and telling stories from his work with musicians. There are many "Broadway" related items and stories which makes it fun and unusual.
I wouldn't suggest bringing young children, as the space to move around in is very tight and you are not supposed to touch any of the displays.

Actually came to this "museum" home when my son had a school project to complete. (Had to make a cigar box guitar). The staff was very helpful. I could see it was run by a craftsman who loved the instrument. We got a glimpse of his repair shop

I stumbled upon this place to have a guitar overhauled. I then started taking lessons there.
If you need a guitar to be repaired you must see Chris. If you are a guitarist you should take a tour.
I plan on taking my kids there to check out the neat exhibits.

I have 16 guitars and have been playing for 46 years. No one is better at repairs and service than Chris at the Guitar Museum. He repairs the guitars of many famous musicians and has a fantastic reputation. Go see the museum or take a lesson too! Tell him Dennis Beatleboy sent you!

IF you're a guitar enthusiast, this is your place! This museum is housed in the Living Room of a former farm house, so it's a very small room, but houses a vast collection of all kinds of mostly stringed instruments, and mainly guitars, at that. There's a wall dedicated to Les Paul. Since the room is so small, and so crowded, but nicely displayed very valuable instruments, one of the owners takes you around and explains a great deal. He's very knowledgeable and is happy to answer any questions. The rest of the farm house is used for repairs and guitar lessons. It's worth taking a peek at some of the instruments being repaired for as well, as some are quite unique!
