Absolutely beautiful!!! Entry pricey. Better to attend without young kids. Displays beautiful and if you have individuals interested, it’s a beautiful and amazing display. Not to MISS, but leave the youngsters behind. They would NEVER appreciate the beauty of the display.
Snug Harbor has many other events and displays that I am unfortunately unfamiliar with, but if this was a preview, the rest is not to be missed

We had visited the Staten Island Museum back when it was located adjacent to the Staten Island Borough Hall. Back then, it was very quirky and, to some degree, resembled a place that had been assembled from the contents of many private attics over time. There didn't seem to be a theme connecting everything except that the artifacts exhibited had some connection to Staten Island. Now, in its new location at Snug Harbor, the Staten Island Museum clearly displays the influence of the professional curatorial staff from the Smithsonian Institution. The weather on the day we visited was awful with rain and high winds but the staff at the Staten Island Museum made us forget the inclement weather and want to explore the museum. My wife and I had a great conversation with the very personable Jhoon and her colleague at the front desk. These friendly and welcoming individuals make such a difference in a museum visitor's overall experience. They were great! We really enjoyed exploring this museum with its life-size mastodon and displays of fossils (including an ancient shark tooth), Native American artifacts, and paintings (including one by native Staten Islander Jasper Cropsey). We especially loved the Treasure Chest Exhibition with a variety of unusual objects including African, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Renaissance, as well as a suit of armor. There was also a fascinating exhibition entitled "Field Notes: Seed Stories and the Power of Plants," which offered artworks and seed histories from the Hudson Valley Seed Company in addition to documentary videos of Staten Island gardeners. This is a relatively small museum but fun and worth exploring.

The primary purpose of my visit was to see the Impractical Jokers Exhibition and I was not disappointed! Lots of props from the show and interviews with the jokers.
The Jokers have also hidden things around the rest of the Museum for you to find. The rest of the Museum is quite small but definitely worth a walk around.
The staff at the museum were also super super friendly!

I always like taking the ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island. Make sure to give yourself 4 to 5 or maybe 6 hours because there is a lot to see in that area. A really cool art exhibit titled Truth on Display at the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art. Learning the history of the SNUG Museum is worst going back in time. Must see if you're in NYC.

This is a very small museum, but, well done. Don't expect the MET, but, it is a nice local museum that is worth a stop if you are on Staten Island.

Have Impractical Jokers exhibit now. If you're a fan of the show, go. Other exhibits include a Mastodon, art landscapes showing SI in the 18th and 19th centuries. Good for families.

We were welcomed very nicely by the Museum’s personnel and given a short introduction which was useful, because we visited every floor including the lower one, where we found out things about StAten Island’s history we did not know, and many will be surprised to learn too!!! The other exhibits are extremely interesting, all with their corresponding explanations and very well presented. And now that the Museum is located at Snug Harbor, the surrounding grounds, deserve a stroll through them! TIP: if visiting by car, parking is behind the Museum and then walk around the building to the entrance on the front!

I finally was able to check out this museum after meaning to for years. I was a little disappointed that there wasn’t more on the history or Staten Island itself. It’s a smaller museum but worth checking out when you visit Snug Harbor

If you’re taking the free Staten Island Ferry this Museum is definitely worth a visit. You can take the S40 bus from St George Ferry Terminal straight there. I visited on a Thursday afternoon and had the place to myself which was very welcome amongst the bustle of NYC. Exhibits were quirky but really interesting, they have free wifi and entry is by donation so you can pay what you want.
