I try to visit FORT’s all the time and this one is absolutely gorgeous. It sits at the bottom of the Verrazano Bridge.
They give you a map that you can follow a path to see all the important sites of the FORT. A little disappointed that you couldn’t go into the FORT itself however you can see it from the outside and from on top of the hill.

With some time off in NYC I took the ferry out to Staten Island.
The guidance on the Park Service helped, as it told me which bus to use. Some buses stop in the Park and some go near to the park. I couldn't tell the difference, but kept an eye on where we were and got off and had a short walk to enter the park.
I was there on a week day, so not many people around. I explored the gun emplacements.
I used tick spray - don't know if this is an issue or not.
On the weekends Park Service provides guides which gives greater access, which would have been good.

The place has really cool history and great views. However, it may not be a great place for a jog.. While jogging down the hill on the paved path, there was a pot hole in the trail that was covered by leaves that I had not noticed. It was pretty deep and I stepped into it and twisted my ankle and ended up breaking it terribly. Just be careful on the paved trail and don't assume that it is maintained well.

With roadways serving as trails, there are trails through the grounds for new experiences around every corner. Start at the visitor center, get to know the mountain goats, take the roads less traveled. Be sure and visit the shooting range and beach for waterfront views in the shadow of the Verrazano Narrows

Excellent my friend! I could not have said it better myself! A very key year and pivotal time period is around 1812. The supposed war of 1812, Tecumseh, the supposed great new Madrid earthquake. I literally dont believe a word those "folks"(government as a whole, educational establishment, & ESPECIALLY the MSM)say.Just know without a single doubt that ANYTHING "they" tell us is AT THE VERY LEAST up for much scrutiny and concern. God bless my friend and NEVER ever let them bury the light! 🔥🙏✝️

This Fort is a really cool place to visit. The buildings are still in good shape. Excellent close ups of the bridge. Harbor is right there. A real gem in Staten Island.

This is old world technology. No pictures of it being built. Older than claimed.Tartarian design.mud flood comes to mind.history given is false.lies. 1847 they were building with wood not cut stone. Beyond our abilities today.fact. white man only got to usa in 1750s how the hell did they build giant forts when a man can't lift one of the stones being used as to big. If it don't make sense history given is b.s. same with all old world buildings around the world. False history given always. Star forts prove the narrative is all lies.Wake up question everything to do with history regarding buildings of the past.research mud flood Tartaria to get truth.All capital buildings around the world have been given a false history. White house Houses of Parliament, Taj Mahal, Buckingham Palace etc. Mud flood proves we're being lied to about history of man.

Very interesting, especially if you like history and beautiful views. Oh, and there are goats throughout the year to manage the grass. Economic solution to a vegetation problem!

We took the bus out to Fort Wadsworth, but unfortunately I hadn't timed things too well as the visitor centre wasn't open , nor Battery Weed. Nevertheless we had a walk around the road to view the Verrazano bridge and the views across to Brooklyn and Manhattan before we moved on.

I’m not sure about where you would have a reception. There is a church where you could have a wedding, or you can do like my son did and just get married at the overlook with NYC and the Verrazano bridge in the background.

If I get the ferry on a Monday afternoon, can I get to Fort Wadsworth and back by bus, then go back on the ferry to Manhatten?

From the Staten Island Ferry, in St. George, take the S51 to Fort Wadsworth. Only takes 10-15 minutes by bus. Return via same bus. Fort Wadsworth also connects to South Beach/FDR boardwalk through foot path or via same bus line. Bus and ferry run 24/7 so no problems getting back.
