AS long as the dog is not aggressive, and you have full control over it, you're fine. It's hard to predict which dogs the wolves will like, as they respond to smell and demeanor, so the only drawback is that if the wolves... Mer

Hi, Karen, I hope it would help to know that all of the Refuges animals (except the wolves) were rehabilitated but are still too disabled to survive in the wild. If they were released, they would quickly become a meal for a predator or die of starvation because they cannot hunt sufficiently to survive. Some of the injuries are obvious--the eagle with the missing wing, the snowy owl with the damaged shoulder--but some are not, like the cognitive injury that causes one of the bobcats to keep trying to drown itself, or the neurological damage suffered by the raptor who presumably ate a mouse poisoned with rodenticide. Next time you visit (and I hope there will be a next time!), ask the staff about the condition of each educational animal and why it cannot be released. BTW, the Refuge does release hundreds of rehabbed critters each year!

Hi, this sounds like a lovely place and would to visit. Is it suitable for younger children (I have 3-year old twins and a 7-year old), or is it better for older children?
