You will not find answers or have your call returned. Rumor around town this decrepit theater is walking away with the insurance money & hoping to be bought out so they don’t have to spend their profit gained off of the disaster. Disgusting practice and will never go to another franks theaters. They never cleaned, renovated, fixed anything prior to this hurricane. I wouldn’t be the least surprised if they left all doors open to claim the damage. Really hope they are investigated. They’ve done nothing but rob this town of their money.

This used to be a fun place to see movies. I'd like to see it return to being one again.It was equipped with a party room for kid's birthdays and is the only multiplex in the area. The theater had the latest movies, comfortable seating, in general was a big addition to the local area. I hope there are plans to restore Coastal Cinema and have it up and running soon. If it were still open my rating would be much better because I've enjoyed many movies here.

has been closed since hurricane Florence. never even anyone there working to repair building; no phone calls, emails returned or answered by corporate. phone message at theater says will be closed for a few weeks due to storm. That was in September. Seriously needed to be updated, cleaned and a working ac prior to the storm; The only ones reaping benefits from the closing at present is corporate. They can write it off as a loss and collect insurance .Doesn't matter to them when it reopens. Those of us who live here have a 50 mile drive to the nearest theater unless you count Southport and it is a narrow two lane dark road at night.

Go to Myrtle Beach or Southport. The drive is completely worth it!
The building needs to be deep cleaned and completely renovated. It looks dirty,is dark and the seats are uncomfortable.
Most of the time, the AC is not working. Buying tickets at the concession counter takes forever.
Shallotte deserves a nicer theater complex. The owner needs to give it up, if he's not going to fix it up!

Unless you are in dire need of seeing a particular movie time - please avoid this theater. Went here on a rainy day with the kids and it was a rough experience. The owner needs to close up shop if he/she can’t maintain this theater.
Positive:
-young man at ticket counter was very nice
-movie started on time
Cons:
-lobby was really really nasty. If your child’s pacifier fell on this carpet, I would encourage you to light it on fire. Dear lord, replace this nasty carpet and clean the lobby!
-popcorn was super average but soda was gross! Didn’t have the right carbonation mix.
-seats in the theater were worn but acceptably comfortable. The floors and such were very dirty in the the theater. I just tried not to think about the filth and resisted turning on the flashlight on my phone.
The lobby was very muggy but I can’t comment on the lack of air conditioning some noted in the theaters. I will say our room was a lot warmer than a typical ice cold movie experience but we were comfortable overall.
I feel sad for this theater and hope they can clean it up!

My wife and I went tonight to see a movie that started at 7:30. I have rewritten this a few times now but I don't want to make it too log so I am going to list items for review. No one at ticket window. Movie signs were taken down because they were always being stolen. We purchased online so that would be ok except there was no one to take our tickets to enter the theater section. Carpeting is horrible. Horrible. No one ever asked for our tickets. It was as if there was no one in charge. Bathrooms were sketchy. Movie started late.(Good Movie). When leaving the theater about 10:00 PM, the parking lot was not lighted, and there were very few cars there. We did not feel safe, the parking lot had approx. 15 young people hanging out. We will not return. This is the first one star I have ever given.

But really nice service people that try hard to overcome bad decisions. Like having tickets and food sold by same folks. This makes for ridiculously long lines when it is busy. Theater signage was wrong but staff made it right and even brought us 3d glasses. Our showing was not listed as 3d! Fandango listing wrong too! Get it together Frank Theater Group!

Friendly staff. Current movies shown. Carpet is worn and dirty. Restrooms clean and stocked. Sound is deafening (like most cinemas). Popcorn and soda for $8.00. Senior and military discounts. Morning show times (around 9 a.m.) and afternoon matinee. A good place to spend time on a rainy day.

Good for Family, little high price for seniors , didn.t do anything for veterans this time. Was sad about that . Movie was great , theater was clean, popcorn was good , Do more for seniors on fixed income, also for your military people , past and present.
